Isabelle is a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Dream. She was confirmed on January 21st by DatNuttyKid as the second fighter from the Animal Crossing series, and a clone of Villager.

All of Isabelle's costumes feature a different special character from Animal Crossing - specifically, Isabelle herself, K.K. Slider, Tom Nook, Mabel, Digby, Lottie, Reese, and Cyrus. However, Isabelle is the default costume and is used in all promotion for the game.

Differences from Villager[edit]

As a clone of Villager, Isabelle shares most of her moveset with him, with a few exceptions which can be seen below. She is around the same size as him, but lighter and slightly faster - however, she also does less damage than him in most of the moves they share.

Moveset[edit]

Standard Attacks[edit]

  • Neutral: Isabelle punches with boxing gloves. Identical to Villager's neutral attack.
  • F-Tilt: Isabelle swings an umbrella horizontally. Identical to Villager's forward tilt.
  • U-Tilt: Isabelle waves a glow wand above her head in a circular motion. Similar to Villager's up tilt.
  • D-Tilt: Isabelle pulls a weed from the ground. Identical to Villager's down tilt.
  • Dash: Isabelle falls over, dropping a potted plant. Identical to Villager's dash attack.
  • F-Smash: Isabelle sets off a party popper.
  • U-Smash: Isabelle sets off fireworks. Identical to Villager's up smash.
  • D-Smash: Isabelle digs a hole in front of her and behind her with a shovel, burying opponents. Identical to Villager's down smash.
  • N-Air: Isabelle does a midair cartwheel. Identical to Villager's neutral aerial.
  • F-Air: Isabelle fires a slingshot. Identical to Villager's forward aerial.
  • B-Air: Isabelle fires a slingshot backwards. Identical to Villager's back aerial.
  • U-Air: Isabelle swings two, three, or five turnips over her head. Similar to Villager's up aerial, but since she can have more turnips, she can do more damage.
  • D-Air: Isabelle swings two, three, or five turnips beneath herself. Similar to Villager's down aerial, but since she can have more turnips, she can do more damage.
  • Grab: Isabelle swings a fishing rod to snag opponents. It can also be used as a tether recovery.
    • Pummel: Isabelle hits the opponent with the rod.
    • F-Throw: Isabelle swings the fishing rod over her head, tossing the opponent a short distance forwards. Similar to Villager's forward throw.
    • B-Throw: Isabelle turns around while swinging the fishing rod horizontally. Similar to Villager's back throw.
    • U-Throw: A bush sprouts at Isabelle's feet, launching the opponent (and any other nearby opponents) upward.
    • D-Throw: Slams the opponent into the ground with the fishing rod. Similar to Villager's down throw.
  • Floor-F: Isabelle swings a glow wand in front of and behind herself after standing up. Similar to Villager's floor attack.
  • Floor-B: Isabelle swings a glow wand in front of and behind herself after standing up. Similar to Villager's floor attack.
  • Floor-T: Identical to Villager's trip floor attack.
  • Edge: Isabelle climbs the ledge while spinning, then kicks. Identical to Villager's edge attack.

    • Custom 2 - Pocket Plus: Identical to Villager's version.
  • Side Special - Lloid Rocket: Identical to Villager's version.
    • Custom 1 - Liftoff Lloid: Identical to Villager's version.

    • Custom 1 - Timber Counter: Identical to Villager's version.
    • Custom 2 - Super Timber: Identical to Villager's version.
  • Final Smash - Public Works Project: If an opponent is nearby, Isabelle waves to a Villager (based on their appearance in Happy Home Designer), who then proceeds to build a school, which will explode upon completion, launching trapped opponents. If no opponents are caught in the initial usage, Isabelle just plays the sad emotion. Similar to Villager's final smash, Dream Home, but can trap multiple opponents and does more damage.

Taunts[edit]

  • Up Taunt: Isabelle waves cheerfully.
  • Side Taunt: Isabelle pulls out a fruit and eats it (which does not heal her).
  • Down Taunt: Isabelle claps.

On-Screen Appearance[edit]

Town hall appears and Isabelle exits from it before it vanishes.

Idle Poses[edit]

  • Isabelle looks thoughtful.
  • Isabelle falls asleep for a few seconds before snapping awake.

Victory Fanfare[edit]

Same as Villager's.

Reveal trailer[edit]

The trailer starts with a shot of the front of town hall. It zooms through the door to the inside, where Isabelle is working at the desk. She waves at the camera, then looks confused as a hand reaches from the camera and hands her a letter with the Smash logo seal. She opens it, sees what it is, and looks excited.

The rest of the trailer shows her battling Villager and various other fighters.

Trophies[edit]

Isabelle
Isabelle is the loyal secretary of Smashville. In Super Smash Bros. 4, she would assist the fighters by tossing healing fruit. But this time, she's getting in on the fighting action herself! She may look adorable, but don't let it fool you - she can be a force to be reckoned with. She didn't bring any healing fruit with her, though. I suppose that might be cheating.

Isabelle (Alt.)
Isabelle shares a lot of her moves with her mayor - I suppose when you live in a town like Smashville, that's to be expected. However, she does bring some variation to the table: instead of snagging opponents with nets, she uses a fishing rod. She can also swing a glow wand instead of a stick, and use surprisingly effective party poppers! Her turnips are also even more effective - while Villager can only pull out up to three, she can pull out up to five!
