The Skill parameter has been removed from Smasher infoboxes, and in its place are the new "Best historical ranking" and "Best tournament result" parameters. SmashWiki needs help adding these new parameters to Smasher infoboxes, refer to the guidelines here for what should be included in these new parameters. |
When adding results to Smasher pages, include each tournament's entrant number in addition to the player's placement, and use the {{Trn}} template with the matching game specified. Please also fix old results on Smasher pages that do not abide to this standard. Refer to our Smasher article guidelines to see how results tables should be formatted. |

User:TheNuttyOne/Adminy stuff
From SmashWiki, the Super Smash Bros. wiki
Jump to navigationJump to search
Random collection of stuff that I think a user needs to be an admin, and the stuff I think I have from that list.
Qualities admins should have[edit]
- Activity. Admins should be online as often as possible in order to handle disputes and vandal attacks without delay.
- Levelheadedness. Admins should be able to remain calm in stressful or irritating situations.
- Knowledge of policies. Admins should obviously know all of SmashWiki's policies.
- Lack of bias. Admins should be able to remain non-biased in arguments in order to provide an easy and fair solution.
- Friendly but strict attitude. Admins should be warm and welcoming to new users, while still being able to keep control over the wiki.
- Good standing among the community. Admins should be well accepted by the community to avoid unnecessary drama.
- Willingness to admit their mistakes. Admins are not kings, and make mistakes like all other users, and, like all other users, should be able to admit when they make a mistake and learn to do better.
- Willingness to forgive. Admins should be able to not hold a grudge against a user who has made mistakes or caused trouble and treat them like any other user despite any past experiences with the user.
Qualities I think I have[edit]
- Activity. I am almost always online daily for several hours at a time.
- Lack of bias. Unless I feel that it casts a bad image upon the wiki, I am open to compromises or even letting go of my opinion when necessary.
- Friendly but strict attitude. I can generally control a large group of people without them all despising me, so I'd like to think that's a good sign of this.
Qualities I have some of[edit]
- Knowledge of policies. There are a few tidbits I've missed but I have a good idea of all of the policies. This would be an easy problem to remedy.
- Good standing among the community. I like to think most users like me, but I can think of a few examples where I've left a bad taste in others' mouths.
- Willingness to admit my mistakes. I do admit my mistakes, but usually not until long after it's become a huge problem. I could probably stand to be a little quicker on that.
- Willingness to forgive. I can forgive little things pretty easily, but I tend to jump to non-good faith conclusions quickly when there are repetitive little mistakes, particularly when following a big mistake.
Qualities I think I need to work on[edit]
- Levelheadedness. I do tend to get irritated easily
- while it's never really shown on SmashWiki besides a few choice scenarios, it is something that I struggle.
