Ally is a professional smasher from Quebec who is regarded as one of the best Brawl and Smash 4 players in the world.

In SSB4, Ally mains Mario and is widely considered to be the greatest Mario player in the world. He is known for his strong combo game, amazing DI, and intelligent reads. He won EVO 2016, the largest SSB4 tournament ever, and sports other excellent tournament placings such as 1st at Get On My Level 2016 and Smash 'N' Splash 2, 2nd at Pound 2016, 4th at Paragon Los Angeles 2015, and 5th at EVO 2015. He also occasionally plays other characters in tournament such as Cloud and Marth. He is currently ranked 2nd on the Panda Global Rankings and 1st on the Midwest Smash 4 Power Rankings, Montreal Smash 4 Power Rankings, and Michigan Smash 4 Power Rankings.

In Brawl, Ally mains Snake and Meta Knight, and is considered to be the best Snake player in the world as well as one of the best Meta Knight players in North America, as shown by his multiple tournament wins such as GENESIS, Pound V, and Apex 2015. He also plays other characters, such as Wario, Ice Climbers, and Captain Falcon. Although he did not initially consider himself to be a Meta Knight main, his Meta Knight has seen increased usage in tournaments, and has been considered by most to be a main along with Snake since late 2010. The strategies he employs when playing Snake are unique; "I've made all of my strategies from my mind. All the setups are from me. I haven't seen any Snake use his projectiles and mines like I have", he stated. He is ranked 8th on the 2014 SSBBRank, at the 0 position on the Quebec Brawl Power Rankings and was formerly ranked 1st on the Michigan Brawl Power Rankings.

Ally is also considered to be the best Project M Ike main in the world, although he has not attended many tournaments in 2016.

At Get On My Level 2016, Ally became the sixth person to defeat ZeRo in a tournament set in Smash 4, as well as the second person to eliminate him. He is also the first player to take a set off ZeRo and eliminate him in more than one tournament, achieving this at Smash 'N' Splash 2 and Super Smash Con 2016.

On August 18th, 2016, Ally joined Cloud 9 as their first Smash 4 player.

Tournament history

Rise to fame

Ally became known for his great Snake play when he entered his first tournament in the United States, Cataclysm 4. He placed 3rd, losing to only Mew2King and Azen. He later attended Clash of the Titans IV, losing to Mew2King once again in both winners' finals and grand finals.

At Apex 2009, Ally claimed his first victory over Mew2King, defeating him 3-1 in grand finals to win the tournament. At GENESIS two months later, Ally repeated this and took 1st place once again, defeating Mew2King 3-1 in two consecutive sets of grand finals. At EVO 2009, Ally lost to mikeHAZE in winners' semis, but came back and defeated him 3-1 in losers' finals. In grand finals, he lost to Mew2King 0-3, placing 2nd. Ally also placed 2nd at S.N.E.S., losing to ADHD in two sets of grand finals.

2010 and the MLG Pro Circuit

At Pound 4, Ally lost to Ksizzle in winners' bracket. He then made a run through losers' bracket, defeating Seibrik, Havoc, Shadow, and Ksizzle in a rematch in losers' semis. He lost to Mew2King in losers' finals, finishing at 3rd place. Ally then defeated Mew2King in grand finals at WHOBO 2, winning the tournament. However, Ally lost to Mew2King in grand finals of both MLG Orlando 2010 and MLG Columbus 2010, placing 2nd at both. He was eliminated early in losers' bracket by Havok at MLG Raleigh 2010, placing 17th. Lastly, Ally placed 8th at MLG DC 2010, losing to ESAM 1-2 in losers' top 8.

Ally notably attended the European tournament Bushido Brawl Impact in the summer of 2010, where he defeated Kaos 2-1 in winners' semis and Glutonny 3-0 in winners' finals, but lost to Glutonny 1-3 in the first set of grand finals and 2-3 in the second set, placing 2nd. Later, at Apex 2010, Ally lost to Brood 0-2 in winners' bracket, then defeated Anti 2-0 and RAIN 2-0 in losers' bracket before being eliminated by Mew2King 0-2 in losers' quarters, placing 5th.

At MLG Dallas 2010, the final tournament of the MLG 2010 circuit, Ally's ranking points from the previous tournaments in the circuit placed him as first seed in the championship bracket. He made it to losers' semis, where he lost to Tyrant, placing 4th.

2011 to 2013

At Pound V, Ally lost to ESAM 1-2 in winners' bracket. After Mew2King forfeited to him, he then made a long run through losers' bracket, defeating Gnes, ADHD 2-1, ESAM 2-1 in a rematch, and Seibrik 3-0 in losers' finals. He then defeated Anti 3-1 and 3-0 in the first and second sets of grand finals, respectively, to win the tournament. He then proceeded to win WHOBO 3, defeating Dojo 3-1 in winners' finals and UltimateRazer 3-1 in grand finals. At GENESIS 2, Ally lost to ADHD 1-3 in winners' semis, then eliminated Zex 3-0 in losers' quarters, Gnes 3-1 in losers' semis, and ADHD 3-1 in a rematch in losers' finals. He lost to Mew2King 1-3 in grand finals, placing 2nd.

Ally placed 5th at Apex 2012, which is currently the largest Brawl tournament of all time. He defeated Brood 2-0 and UltimateRazer in winners' bracket, before losing to Otori 0-3 in winners' semis. In losers' quarters, he was eliminated by Nietono 1-2. At SKTAR, Ally defeated Will, Dabuz, and Mr. R 2-0 in winners' bracket, before losing to ESAM 1-2 in winners' semis. He was eliminated by Vinnie 1-2 in losers' quarters, placing 5th once again. At WHOBO 4, Ally lost to Atomsk 1-2 early in winners' bracket, then eliminated Seibrik, Nick Riddle, Will, and Atomsk 3-0 in a rematch in losers' semis. In losers' finals, he eliminated Gnes 3-0 to make it to grand finals, where he lost to ESAM 1-3, placing 2nd.

Ally lost to Mikeneko 1-2 early in winners' bracket at Apex 2013, and then eliminated Pwii, but lost to Dabuz 0-2, placing 13th after a short run. He won IMPULSE 2013, losing to Dabuz 1-3 in the first set of grand finals, but still winning the second set 3-0. Ally was upset by MVD 1-2 in winners' bracket at SKTAR 2, and then lost to ESAM 1-2, placing 9th.

Brawl and Project M Present

Ally picked up the Brawl mod Project M in late 2013, entering Project M singles at KTAR 8 and placing 2nd, defeating Rolex 3-2 in losers' finals and losing to Mew2King 2-3 in grand finals. In Brawl singles at said tournament, he defeated Nairo 2-0 before losing to Mew2King 1-2 in winners' semis. He eliminated Mr. R 2-1 in losers' quarters, then lost to Nakat 1-2 in losers' semis, placing 4th.

At Apex 2014, Ally placed 5th in Brawl singles. He lost to ZeRo in winners' bracket, then eliminated Seagull Joe and Tyrant 2-0 in losers' bracket before being eliminated by Mew2King 1-2 in loser's quarters. He managed to make it into top 8 in Project M singles, losing to Sethlon 0-2 in losers' top 8.

In Brawl singles at SKTAR 3, Ally defeated Nairo 2-0 in winners' bracket before losing to ESAM 1-2 once again in winners' semis, in a match that went down to the last 5 seconds of the final match. He was eliminated by ZeRo 0-2 in losers' quarters, placing 5th. In Project M singles, he placed 17th.

Ally remains one of the best Brawl players in the world, taking home both Apex 2015 and Dismantle 2 with players such as Nairo, MVD, and Vinnie in attendance.

Super Smash Bros. 4

Ally's first recorded Smash 4 tournament was Smash Intensifies where he won defeating Chrim Foish 2-0, HolyNightmare 3-1, and Chrim Foish 3-0 in grand finals. On December 6th, 2014, Ally won The Come Up, the Canadian qualifier for Apex 2015, without dropping a single set, defeating Mew2King in winners semis 3-1, Nakat in winners finals 3-1, and Will in grand finals in an extremely close 3-2 win to take the entire tournament. He was later invited to the CLASH Online Invitational Finals where he placed 7th losing to Zucco and ANTi 0-2. At the The Flex Zone he defeated Frozen and False in winners before losing to Dabuz in winners finals. In losers finals he defeated False again and then defeated Dabuz in 2 sets of grand finals. At Neo Canadia 5 he defeated Jerm 2-0, V115 2-0, Poke 2-0, and Meekspeedy 2-0 before losing to NAKAT 2-3 in winners finals. In losers he defeated Chrim Foish 3-0 and then defeated NAKAT 3-2 and 3-0 to win the tournament. At Apex 2015 he lost Vinnie in round 2 pools. In losers he defeated Plup, Zinoto, and Vinnie in a rematch before falling to Nietono and aMSa 2-0.

In March 2015, Ally won Shots Fired, a national tournament held in Easton, Pennsylvania. Ally lost to 6WX in winners semis in a close, five game set. Ally made it to grand finals on losers side after defeating Max Ketchum 2-0, Mew2King 3-2, and 6WX 3-2 in losers finals. In grand finals, Ally took down Nairo 3-0 to reset the bracket, then 3-2 in the second set. Shots Fired was a notable tournament for Ally because he switched to Diddy Kong frequently when faced with tough opponents. At LAN WAR X Ally was upset by Red X 1-2 in winners. In losers bracket he defeated K.I.D. Goggles 2-0, Chrim Foish 2-0, Meekspeedy 2-0, Red X 3-1 in a rematch and HolyNightmare 3-0 and 3-1 to win the entire tournament. At Enthusiast Gaming Live he took 2nd place after defeating Blacktwins 3-0 in winners semis and Meekspeedy 3-1 in winners finals he lost to HolyNightmare 2-3 in both sets of grand finals. At Shuffle VII Ally defeated Mister Eric 2-1, LOE1 2-0 and Zinoto to make grand finals winners side. In grand finals he lost the first set to Zinoto 0-3 but won the second set 3-1 to take home 1st place. At Smash 'N' Splash Ally defeated NiTe 2-1 and Logic 2-0 before being upset by Wizzrobe 0-2 in winners semis. In losers he defeated Mister Eric 2-0, Shel 2-0, Wizzrobe 3-1, and ScAtt 3-1 in both sets of grand finals to win the tournament. At EXP 2015 Ally defeated Astro 2-1, and Poke 3-1 to make it to winners finals. He was then defeated by V115 1-3 and Poke 2-3 in a rematch and finished 3rd overall.

At EVO 2015, Ally placed 5th, after beating StaticManny to advance to Top 8 on the losers side, then defeating ESAM, and finally losing to Mr. R.

At Low Tier City 3 Ally defeated Dakpo 2-0, Kamicario 2-1, and Denti 3-0 before being sent to losers by ZeRo 0-3 in winners finals. In losers he defeated Zenyou 3-1 before being eliminated by ZeRo 0-3. At Summit 2015 he defeated Trulliam 2-0, Iceninja 2-1, SpaceDong 3-1, Poke 3-1, and HolyNightmare 3-0 to take 1st place. At the California national Paragon Los Angeles 2015 Ally defeated Jonny Westside before being sent to losers by Shaky. In losers he defeated Pink Fresh, Z, Dakpo 2-0, Zex 2-0, Larry Lurr 2-1, 6WX 3-0 and Mr. R 3-2 before losing to Dabuz 1-3 and finishing in 4th place. Ally then traveled to Japan for Umebura F.A.T. where he was sent to losers 0-2 by Komorikiri. In losers he defeated Gomamugitya, Umeki, and Nyanko 2-1 before being eliminated by 9B 0-2 and finishing in 7th place.

In October, he attended Smashfield weeklies #9 as a pre The Big House 5 touranment. At the weekly he defeated Ksev, MVD 2-1, and MJG 2-0 before losing to ESAM 2-3 in winners finals. In losers he defeated Abadango 3-1 and ESAM 3-1 in both sets of grand finals to win the tournament. At The Big House 5 itself he defeated JJROCKETS 2-0 to make it into Top 32. In Top 32 he lost to ANTi's Luigi 1-2 in winners eights and dropped to losers where he defeated Ryo 2-1 before losing to ZeRo 0-3 who was rampaging through the losers bracket to finish at 13th. 2 weeks later, at MLG World Finals 2015, he defeated Demitus to advance into the championship bracket winners side. In bracket he defeated False 3-1, and Mr. R 3-1 before he lost to ZeRo again 0-3 in winners semis. In losers he defeated TheReflexWonder 3-1 before being eliminated by Nairo 1-3, placing 4th overall. To finish out the month he won Canada Cup 2015 defeating Ray Kalm 2-1, San 2-1, SuperGirlKels 3-1, Yoh, 3-0 and HolyNightmare 3-2.

Ally finished out 2015 with a solid win at Smash INTENSIFIES 2 with a 3-1 win over HolyNightmare in winners and grand finals.

To start out 2016 Ally attended Dismantle 2 where he defeated Ned 2-0 before being upset by DKwill 1-2. In losers bracket he defeated Zinoto 2-0, Vinnie 2-0, and DKwill 2-1 before being eliminated by Nairo 1-3 in losers finals and finishing 3rd.

Right before GENESIS 3 Ally attended Wombo Wednesday #21 where he defeated Rom 2-0 before being sent to losers by Shaky 1-2. In losers bracket he defeated Kei 2-0, DSS 2-0, 9B 2-1, and Shaky 2-0 before losing to Ranai 0-2. GENESIS 3 was 2016's first major event. Ally made it to winners quarters in a dominant fashion, beating Xaltis 2-1, SlayerZ 2-0, and Shaky 3-0. He then lost to Ranai (Japan's best player at the time) 1-3 and Nairo 1-3 to end at 9th place. At Frosty Faustings VIII Ally defeated Ned 2-1, and JJROCKETS 3-0 to make grand finals winners side. However JJROCKETS reset the bracket 3-1 but Ally ultimately won the second set 3-0.

In February Ally won Oh, Did I Win? 2 defeating LOE1 2-0, Zinoto 3-0 and V115 3-0 on his way to first place. Ally would then go on to win Frostbite taking out JJROCKETS 2-1, Ksev 2-1, Ned 3-0, and Zinoto 3-0. At Landlocked he defeated Darkshad 2-0, Tyroy 2-1 and NiTe 2-0 before being upset by Ryuga 1-3. In losers he defeated Demitus 3-1 before losing to Dabuz 0-3 ending his 3 tournament win streak at 4th place. To end out the month Ally went to Breakout 2 where he defeated Blacktwins 2-1, and LOE1 2-0 before losing to Zinoto 2-3 in winners finals. In losers he eliminated SETHsational 3-0 and reset the bracket against Zinoto 3-1 but lost the second set 1-3.

In March 2016, he attended the national tournament Shots Fired 2 where he defeated Dyr 2-0 top make top 32. In top 32 he lost to 9B 1-2 and dropped into losers. In losers he defeated Seibrik 2-0 and 6WX 3-2 before losing to ANTi 1-3 and finishing in 9th place. He then attended Midwest Mayhem defeating Sethlon 2-0, Shel 2-1, Greenbeast 2-0, Tyroy 3-2 and Mr. R 3-1 to make grand finals winners side. After a 0-3 bracket reset by Mr. R Ally won the tournament 3-1 in the second set. He would then enter OUTFOXX'D where he beat JJROCKETS 2-0 and Zinoto 3-0 before falling to Mr. R 1-3 in winners finals. After a 3-2 win over Zinoto in losers finals Ally was defeated by Mr. R 0-3 and finished in second place. Ally would later travel to Virginia for Pound 2016 where he defeated WaDi 2-0 and Catbug to make it into round 2 pools. In round 2 he defeated Zenyou 2-0 and Hyuga 2-0 to move onto top 16. In winners quarters he was defeated 0-3 by VoiD and sent to losers. In losers bracket he defeated ESAM 3-2, Larry Lurr 3-1, Tweek 3-1, Mr. R 3-2, and Marss 3-0 before losing to Abadango 0-3 in grand finals finishing seconds. At EGLX, after defeating San 3-0 he fell to Mew2King 2-3 in winners semis. In losers quarters he defeated Iceninja 3-0 SuperGirlKels 3-1, Mew2king 3-0 in the runback. He placed 2nd at that tournament, losing to Nairo 0-3 after resetting the bracket 3-0. At NEW FISH he defeated Dark Wizzy 2-0 to make top 8 in which he defeated Marss 2-0 before falling to Larry Lurr 1-3. In losers finals he defeated MVD 3-2 and was then eliminated by Larry Lurr 1-3 in their rematch.

The rise

At Get On My Level 2016, Ally placed 1st, going on a winners run beating Mr.E 3-2, ANTi 3-0, MKLeo 3-1, and Larry Lurr 3-1, and also became the second person to eliminate ZeRo after beating him in Grand Finals 3-2, managing to make a three game comeback. A week later, at MomoCon 2016 after beating Kodystri 2-0, he was upset by Wrath 0-2 in winners quarterfinals (with a time out in Game 1 and Game 2 ending with less than a minute left). He then made an impressive losers run, beating Fatality 2-0, VoiD 3-1, Mew2King 3-1, LordMix 3-2, and Wrath 3-1 (by switching to Cloud after losing with Mario Game 1), but fell to Nairo 2-3 to finish at 2nd place.

In June 2016, he won Smash 'N' Splash 2 defeating JJROCKETS 2-0 before losing 1-3 to Ned in winners semis. In losers he beat Mew2King 3-1, Zinoto 3-1, Ned 3-2, and ZeRo again by winning both sets of grand finals 3-1. After that he won Breakout 3 defeating Zinoto 2-0, Regralht 2-0, Blacktwins 2-0, Rayquaza07 2-1, Seagull Joe 3-0 and Rayquaza07 again 3-1 but not before he reset the bracket on Ally 3-0. At CEO 2016 he was upset 0-2 by Blue Beast. In losers he defeated PewPewU 2-0, Player-3 2-0, and Blue Beast 2-0 to make top 64 losers side. In top 64 hes eliminated by Zenyou 1-2 achieving an all time low of 49th place. At Midwest Mayhem 4 he defeated JJROCKETS 2-0 to make top 8 winners side. In winners semis he lost to 6WX 2-3 and sent to losers where he defeated Zinoto 3-1 and Pink Fresh 3-1 before losing to Hyuga 1-3 and finishing in 3rd place.

At EVO 2016, he took the tournament after defeating Jtails, Zephyr, 2-0, Angel Cortes, NAKAT 2-1, Dyr 2-0, Dabuz 2-0, Abadango 2-1 in winners semis and Kamemushi 3-0 and 3-1 in winners finals and grand finals respectively. At Clutch City Clash, he was sent to losers by Samsora 0-2. In losers bracket he defeated Muse 2-1, Illusion 2-0, 6WX 2-0, ScAtt 3-0, CaptainZack 3-1, and Trevonte 3-0 before being eliminated by Samsora 2-3 and placing 3rd.

Super Smash Con 2016 was the summer's last major event. There, Ally defeated ADHD 2-0 and Seagull Joe 2-1 before losing to 6WX 1-2 in phase 2 pools. He made it to top 8 through the losers bracket by beating Frozen 3-1, ZeRo for the 4th time that year (3-1) and MVD 3-1. He then beat Abadango 3-1 but eventually lost to VoiD 1-3 to finish at 5th.

He later travelled to Rio de Janeiro to compete in the eGames Showcase 2016, where he rampaged through the winners bracket uncontested, beating Wabz, Larry Lurr and MKLeo without dropping a game. In grand finals he faced off again against Larry Lurr and narrowly avoided the bracket reset, beating him 3-2.

On August 18th, 2016, Ally was signed on by Cloud 9 as their second Smash player after Mang0. Later that month, at Endgame, he defeated Darkshad 2-1 and Mr. E 2-1 before losing to Mew2King 1-3 in winners semis. He then beat Ned 3-2 and Zinoto 3-0 but lost to ZeRo for the first time that year (1-3) and placed 3rd. At Breakout 5 he defeated smasher1001 2-1, Ksev 3-0, SETHsational 3-0 and Ryuga 3-0 to win the tournament. At Zero Fox Given he beat Darkshad 2-1 before losing to Ryuga 1-3 in winners semis. In losers he defeats Tyroy 3-1, JJROCKETS 3-0, Ryuga 3-1 and Zinoto 3-2 before losing to Zinoto 2-3 in the second set of grand finals. At 2GGT: Abadango Saga, he defeated SS 2-0, and Xzax 3-0 before losing to Komorikiri 2-3 in a very close set. After beating Captain Zack 3-1, Elegant 3-0, and Rich Brown 3-1, his run was cut short when Larry Lurr beat him 0-3. Ally placed 4th at that tournament.

At The Big House 6, he defeated James 2-1 before he was upset in phase 2 pools by WaDi, an up-and-coming Mewtwo main from MD/VA. He beat Pink Fresh 2-0 but then felt ill and decided to drop out from the tournament, ending his run at 25th place.

At Canada Cup 2016 Ally defeated NinjaLink 2-0, DarkAura 2-1, and Javi (Smash 4) 3-0 to make it to winners finals which would mark Ally's third encounter with MKLeo in tournament. They met in winners finals, where Ally had the upper hand, but in grand finals, Leo reset the bracket and won the event. All 3 sets went to Game 5 and were very close.

At LAN WAR X 2016 Ally took the tournament beating Venom 3-2, Chrim Foish 3-1, and Venom again 3-0 in grand finals

At UGC Smash Open Ally lost 2-3 to iStudying in winners finals of their pool. He then proceeded to make a loser's bracket run beating Tyroy 3-1, Pink Fresh 3-1, and Kameme 3-1 before falling to Nairo 1-3 and ending his run at 9th place. One week later at Showdown: Battle Royale Ally defeated IcyMist 3-1, and Dyr 3-1 en route to top 8. In winners semis he fell to Mr. R 2-3, in losers he eliminated Zinoto 3-1, and Dyr 3-1 before being eliminated by Mr. R 2-3 ultimately finishing in 3rd.

At 2GGT: ZeRo Saga Ally defeated Dyr 3-0 to make it out of pools. In winners bracket he defeated Tyrant 3-1, and ZeRo 3-2 before falling to Larry Lurr 1-3 and in losers bracket he was eliminated by MKLeo 1-3 finishing at 5th place.

2017

To start out 2017 Ally attended Midwest Mayhem 6: SoCal Invasion where he was defeated by Tyroy 2-3 in winners bracket. In losers he defeated Ned 3-2, and Zenyou 3-1 to make top 8. In top 8 he was defeated by James 2-3 and finished at 7th place.

At GENESIS 4, Ally solidly cruised through winners, with his only close sets being with Regi and Locus in which he clutched both 2-1. He continued through winners defeating Rich Brown 3-0, VoiD 3-1, and Abadango 3-0 until he lost to MKLeo 1-3 in winners finals. After narrowly defeating ZeRo 3-2 with ZeRo using Cloud, he narrowly loses to MKLeo again 2-3 in grand finals, placing 2nd. To finish out the month Ally won Frosty Faustings IX, defeating JJROCKETS 3-0, Dyr 3-2, and Ned 3-1 on his way to victory.

In February 2017 Ally attended Midwest Mayhem 7: Mexico Invasion where he defeated Mystearica 3-0 before falling to Tyroy 1-3 in winners quarters. In losers he defeated Ozone 3-1 and Regi 3-0 before being eliminated 2-3 by Javi (Smash 4) and finishing in 5th place. Ally was then invited to Niconico Tokaigi 2017, where he defeated 9B 2-0 before falling to Nairo 0-2 and Dabuz 1-2. He ultimately finished 9th at the event. At Frostbite 2017, Ally was upset by Komota's Kirby 1-2 in his pool, but still managed to qualify for top 48 losers. After beating Ranai and MVD 3-1 each, KEN 3-2, Kirihara and Kameme 3-1 each, he lost to Shuton 1-3 at the beginning of losers top 8, placing 7th.

Trivia

• Ally is Holy's younger brother, who he used to almost always team up with for doubles events.
• Ally holds the record of earning the highest payment out of any Smash tournament, having earned $15,972 from EVO 2016.
• Ally and fellow Mario main ANTi are known for exaggerating Mario's weaknesses, which later became a meme on Twitter and in commentary.
• Due to his humorously inflammatory comments on social media, Ally is often considered one of the premier trolls of the Smash community, as evidenced by Coney dubbing him the "Twitter terror" at Pound 2016.
• At Smashachusetts II, Ally entered with the tag "Chileandude829" in homage of smasher Chillin, who was then known as "Chillindude829".
• In 2012, Ally temporarily went under the alias Axis, where he then announced his "retirement" from Smash and had "Axis' emerge shortly after, in a similar fashion to Mango's "Scorpion Master" alias when he mained Mario in Melee.
• Ally is one of two players to have a tied record against ZeRo (6-6), the other person being Day.
