Trivia[edit]

  • Extended orchestral versions of Overture and Adventure from the Dragon Quest III Symphonic Suite performed by the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra were used in the Hero's reveal trailer, but are not included in the actual game. This is likely due to licensing complications with the late series composer Koichi Sugiyama, who retains the rights to the Dragon Quest soundtracks instead of Square Enix themselves.
    • Because of this, Hero's reveal trailer is one of two trailers pertaining to newcomers to not feature any music found in-game, with the other being Joker's reveal trailer at The Game Awards 2018.
  • Counting victory fanfare, Dragon Quest is the first character-based universe represented in Super Smash Bros. to not include any Smash-exclusive remixes whatsoever.
    • It is also the first character-based universe introduced in Ultimate to not receive a new remix, later joined by Kingdom Hearts (apart from Sora's victory theme).
    • Prior to the release of Challenger Pack 8, Final Fantasy also lacked new remixes aside from Cloud's victory theme.
  • The music from the Dragon Quest series is owned by an organization other than the owner of the IP. This trait is shared with the music from Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, the Culdcept series, Soma Bringer, and Style Savvy: Styling Star.
