Debuts and Special Recoveries[edit]

Types of Recoveries:
- Fully Guided: The character can recover in all 8 directions.
- Hybrid: Used as a recovery in the air, but acts as a normal attack on the ground.

- Parachute: A type of parachute opens up after recovering to slow down falls.

Brawl Sticker Group[edit]

Reflection Table Expressed as Payouts[edit]
Since the reflector table uses multipliers, this is what would be like based on casino cash payouts. 1:2 means a projectile that deals 2% damage or travels at 2 units of speed will gain 1% damage or 1 unit of speed added to the original value when reflected for a total of 3% damage or 3 units of speed. PUSH means the reflected projectile will have the same amount of damage or speed with its original value.

How the air effects main projectiles[edit]
This list shows how main projectiles or characters behave differently when used in midair. This list only one projectile per character. Green checks indicate using the projectile in midair provides an advantage. Red Xs indicate using the projectile in midair provides a disadvantage. Yellow tildes indicate no advantages or disadvantages when using the projectile in midair.

All characters on the roster are eligible to fight the player throughout the mode's three 1-on-1 battles.

Below is the list of all the teams the player can fight in Classic Mode. There are 36 teams. Only universes with two or more characters (excluding character transformations) can be featured. There are two battles in a single playthrough. Characters from the same universe as the opposing team will fight alongside the player unless otherwise noted.

Giant battle[edit]
Just like the teams, the giant characters the player fights are picked randomly from a group that has already been predetermined by the game. This time, giant battle can occur for any universe (except The Legend of Zelda and Donkey Kong). The number of allies are dependent on the stage. On Stage 2, Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong are the player's allies. On Stages 3-5, one ally is given and will be from one of the universes represented. On Stages 6-10, the player is not given any allies. This type of battle will occur twice in a playthrough.
Multi-character battle[edit]
Just like the teams, and the giant characters the player fights, the multiple-character fight is picked randomly from a group that has already been predetermined by the game. This level consists of 10 multiples of 1 of 9 different characters. This battle occurs starting on Stage 3 and two fights of this type can be encountered.
Metal battle[edit]
All characters represented on Stages 6-10 are eligible to appear as a metal character in this 1-on-1 battle against the player. Only one metal battle can be encountered. Unlike Melee, the stage will always be the home stage of the opponent.

Three random characters who haven't fought the player in a playthrough are selected to fight the player. The stage will always be Final Destination.
Speed and Power Character Variants[edit]
Some characters movesets or forms have speed and power variants based on movement or attacks. Speed variants are generally faster but weaker while power variants are generally stronger but slower. The following list focuses on Melee and Brawl characters.
Characters are divided into Parent or Child forms where the parent is the common base forms and the child is the alternate form. Speed Characters are italicized while Power characters are bolded.
