Following Ally's retirement, Snake's results have notably declined. MVD has seen poor performances at larger tournaments and Salem's results have been inconsistent in addition to him primarily playing {{SSBU|Hero}} in bracket. As such, Snake's potential has somewhat stagnated following Ally's retirement, though some are looking towards other players such as {{Sm|Shogun}} as the new leader of the character. | Following Ally's retirement, Snake's results have notably declined. Retirement/Ban
On July 4th, 2019, Ally retired from Smash Bros. tournament play following increased scrutiny towards his former relationship with CaptainZack.[3] This relationship had previously been a subject of discussion in March 2019 via allegations made by tamim, but at the time, CaptainZack apparently had access to the Twitter account of tamim and deleted the initial set of allegations, later adding that "nothing ever happened even close to that" when asked about the possibility of him and Ally having had a sexual relationship. On June 29th, however, CaptainZack tweeted and later deleted a photo of him holding a postcard up to his face with "Tamim was telling the truth." written on it.[4] At the time of their relationship, CaptainZack was 16 years old. Ally, born 1991, is over 10 years older than him.
However, a month later, a Twitter account that goes by "The Truth" with the username "@SmashBrosTruth" stated that CaptainZack was the one who forced Ally into the relationship, and that he had blackmailed Ally to drop sets against Zackray and Nairo at 2GG: Prime Saga and MomoCon 2019 respectively. Hours later, CaptainZack confirmed the latter half.[5]
Following Ally's retirement, Panda Global's PG Stats team announced an internal evaluation, with the possibility of removing him from the upcoming PGRU.[6] While it was eventually decided that he would be given a place on the PGRU, they opted to omit him from the X-Factor survey, list only his ranking and placement without a player card or blurb, and skip over him on the PGRU SmashCenter podcast on Twitch.[7] At the same time, the Harassment Task Force announced that a statement had been delivered to tournament organizers advising a lifetime ban from competition for Ally.[8] The degree to which this ban applies, however, is controversial. At least one prominent tournament organizer, AmiiboKing313, claimed to have not been notified of any lifetime ban.[9]
Aside from the CaptainZack case, Ally has also been accused by his ex-girlfriend for assault. This accusation was factored in when issuing his ban.[10]
Following Ally's retirement, Snake's results have notably declined. MVD has seen poor performances at larger tournaments and Salem's results have been inconsistent in addition to him primarily playing Hero in bracket. As such, Snake's potential has somewhat stagnated following Ally's retirement, though some are looking towards other players such as Shogun as the new leader of the character.
On January 23, 2020, Montreal Gaming Center announced that Ally would be returning to competitive play at Friday Night Smash #57 [11]. The announcement was met with much controversy, with most upset at his return. After winning the local, he was interviewed by EE, where he revealed that he stopped playing Ultimate for 3 to 4 months following his retirement and sought out therapy. He plans to continue competing locally but is unsure of how or if he will ever return to competing at the national level.
As a result of mistakes made by the Harassment Task Force during their initial evaluation of Ally's situation, the case was reviewed with newer evidence. On May 14th, 2020, the Task Force decided to leave the recommendation standing. [12]
Playstyle
Ally's playstyle is characterized through decisive smart decision-making and a tendency to take risks, which allow him to clutch out a game or make a comeback.
In Smash 4
He played Mario and was well known for his consistent punish and defensive/aggressive options that allowed him to take control of a match. He was adept for catching onto an opponent's habits, allowing him to read air dodges and dominate his opponent through hard reads. This is mostly exemplified through his match against ZeRo, the undisputed best player in the world where he dissected the neutral game and downloaded his opponent. Besides his prowess in the neutral, Ally also was well known for his repeated usage of Mario's up smash multiple times in a row due to it being extremely safe. This characteristic of the move allowed Ally to play very risky for a kill, yet still remained unscathed while getting into his opponent's head.
In Ultimate
Ally reprises his old main Snake and uses Mario as a secondary. With Snake, Ally plays aggressively and places grenades in positions that would allow him a combo opportunity or a situation where Ally could take control. His clutch factor still remains with Snake's forward aerial to annihilate his opponents' stock with a single read. Along with this, he also utilizes Snake's powerful up tilt to secure kills, in semblance to his Mario up smash habit in Smash 4. With Mario, he more so plays the same as in Smash 4, however, he does not repeatedly use Mario's up smash constantly due to the move being not as safe.

Trivia
- Ally is Holy's younger brother, who he used to almost always team up with for doubles events.
- Ally and fellow Mario main ANTi are known for exaggerating Mario's weaknesses, which later became a meme on Twitter and in commentary.
- Due to his humorously inflammatory comments on social media, Ally is often considered one of the premier trolls of the Smash community, as evidenced by Coney dubbing him the "Twitter terror" at Pound 2016.
- At Smashachusetts II, Ally entered with the tag "Chileandude829" in homage of smasher Chillin, who was then known as "Chillindude829".
- In 2012, Ally temporarily went under the alias Axis, where he then announced his "retirement" from Smash and had "Axis" emerge shortly after, in a similar fashion to Mango's "Scorpion Master" alias when he mained Mario in Melee.
- Ally held the record for most Smashfield Weeklies tournaments won before Ultimate, having earned 1st place in 33 Smashfield Weeklies tournaments.
- Super Smash Con 2018 was Ally's worst placing at a Smash 4 tournament in his career, placing 65th, defeated by Ralphie before forfeiting in Losers. This is tied with his worst Project M placing, 65th at Paragon Los Angeles 2015.
- At every major Pound event since Pound V, Ally has been in grand finals for the most recent Smash game.
