Battlefield (戦場, Battlefield) is a stage in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It was the very first stage revealed for Ultimate during the Nintendo Direct of E3 2018.

Stage layout

Like its predecessors, Battlefield consists of a central, solid platform, with ledges at its sides that can be grabbed. Above this platform, there are three more soft platforms, arranged in a triangular layout. Unlike in Brawl and Smash 4, the stage always remains in the daytime rather than shifting to evening or night.

Visually, Battlefield still takes place in a futuristic ruins setting, with crumbled buildings on floating islands in the background. However, Battlefield now floats above a large waterfall, and large chunks of ice are present below the stage and on the right side of the stage.
