Subspace Emissary Groups

Near the end of the Subspace Emissary, characters are placed into significant groups based on where they are met. Note that alternate forms of characters are not listed.

Large Groups

These groups have a significant number of characters. All of these groups would merge into one prior to Entrance to Subspace.

Canyon Team

Halberd Team

Isle of the Ancients Team

Small Groups

These groups are noted to have only three characters. All of them have a unique task in the Subspace Emissary.

Villains

This team consists of characters who tend to capture characters as trophies.

Subspace Team

This team consists of characters who rescue others in Subspace (Part I). All of them are guaranteed to fight in the final battle.

Secret Characters

These characters are only available after completing the Subspace Emissary at least once by fighting them in secret rooms.

In addition, Sonic is the only character that's not part of any of these groups.

Stages represented by trophies

The following stages in the Super Smash Bros. series are represented by trophies. Note, in order to qualify, the trophy must share the same name or depict an entire stage not just stage elements. Trophies earned from "Trophy Tussle" events do not count.

Debuts and Special Recoveries

This table lists all characters with some kind of special recovery (one that doesn't act only as a third jump). Note: Only Up Special moves can qualify.

Types of Recoveries:

  • Fully Guided: The character can recover in all 8 directions.
  • Hybrid: Used as a recovery in the air, but acts as a normal attack on the ground.
  • Tether: A special cable which catches platform edges (only available in Super Smash Bros. Brawl).
  • Parachute: A type of parachute opens up after recovering to slow down falls.

Reflection Table Expressed as Payouts

Since the reflector table uses multipliers, this is what would be like based on casino cash payouts. 1:2 means a projectile that deals 2% damage or travels at 2 units of speed will gain 1% damage or 1 unit of speed added to the original value when reflected for a total of 3% damage or 3 units of speed. PUSH means the reflected projectile will have the same amount of damage or speed with its original value.
