  • General
    • The following downloadable content will be usable after purchase:
    • How to Play now contains options to view the help screens for DLC Spirits, Stage Builder, Edit Video and Shared Content.

    • An additional question concerning Stage Builder has been added to the FAQ.
    • There is now a button to view the Credits in the bottom-right corner of the Help menu. This version is different from the Classic Mode and World of Light credits; it simply scrolls the names in the center of a black screen while playing the Vault's theme, and has extra companies and names relating to downloadable content, such as Atlus. These credits can be fast-forwarded, reversed, and paused.
    • The Techniques menu has been updated with two new sections for Gun / Gun Special and Rebellion Gauge. They are the 80th and 81st options.
    • Three new Smash Tag icons have been added, all concerning Joker: his Phantom Thief outfit, his Shujin school uniform, and the Persona series symbol, the Phantom Thieves of Hearts logo.
    • Chrom now uses the Fire Emblem Awakening victory theme.
    • The Announcer now properly calls out Stamina Mode if it is the set game mode.

    • Replays, videos, Mii Fighters and custom stages can now be posted online via Shared Content.
    • It is now easier to be matched with players who have a similar Global Smash Power in Quickplay.
  • Universal Changes
    • Shortened downtime for Perfect Shielding projectiles.
    • Consecutive dodge rolls have more endlag.
  • No Palutena’s Guidance scenes for Ultimate's DLC fighters, instead Ultimate's DLC fighters will use a generic unused Palutena’s Guidance scene from Smash 4.

      • Andy Bogard
      • Joe Higashi
      • Kim Kaphwan
      • Geese Howard

      • Athena Asamiya
      • Ralf & Clark
    • The Tockles spirit is now available to battle on Hero's Spirit Board, in addition to being available as a gift like before.
  • Adjustments to Arenas.
    • There are two new Types of arena: "Elite Only", which has a bright yellow color, and "Beginners Only". Both of them are placed after "amiibo Battle". These two types are mutually exclusive; if you have access to "Elite Only", "Beginners Only" disappears and you can't enter any arenas of that type.
    • In Arenas, rules can now be changed without closing the arena.
    • A new setting has been added when creating an Arena, "Random Battlefield and Ω form". True to its name, it acts as a combination of the Random Battlefield and Random Ω Form settings.
    • The Arena Log is now a much more substantial part of Arenas:
      • The log takes up a larger area when not expanded, now touching the ring, allowing more messages to be seen.
      • If a ruleset is changed or not changed, it is shown in the window.
      • The Arena Log now counts the number of battles done in the Arena.
      • Several of the Arena Log's automated messages, such as "The battle has started", "The battle has ended", and "[playername] has racked up 10 KOs" have been changed.
      • Messages sent by players appear in the log.
    • Predefined messages can now be sent in the Arena. They are in a menu opened with the R button. 91 messages are included under the All section, which are divided between Greetings, Preparation, Before Battle, Thoughts, and Goodbyes sections. In addition to appearing in the Arena Log, messages will also appear above the token of the player who sends it.
    • Button prompts are now shown in the Arena. This includes A when holding your token over the Waiting Area, Ring, or Spectator Stands, L to expand the Arena Log, and R to send a message.
    • The Arena ID is now shown in the top right below the Player List button, in addition to being present on the Rules popup as before.
