Fatality is an SSBU Captain Falcon player from Sugar Hill, Georgia currently residing in Lilburn, Georgia who is considered one of the two best Captain Falcon players in the world, along with NickC. He was formerly considered one of the top PM Captain Falcon players. He is currently ranked 3rd on the Georgia Ultimate Power Rankings and was formerly ranked 48th on the Spring 2019 PGRU. He has taken sets off of top players such as LeoN, kameme, Raito, Umeki, Nicko, ScAtt, RFang, Puppeh, Raffi-X, MVD, Myran, Goblin, Wrath, and Kola.
In Smash 4, Fatality is widely considered the best Captain Falcon player in the world. He is currently ranked 1st on the Georgia Smash 4 Power Rankings and 19th on the Panda Global Rankings 100. He has taken sets off of top players such as ZeRo, Nairo, Dabuz, Ally, Salem, Larry Lurr, komorikiri, CaptainZack, Marss, and kameme.
Fatality earned the reputation as the best Captain Falcon player with his Top 8 placings in both Super Smash Con 2015 and Super Smash Con 2016, in addition to getting Top 16 at 2GGT: ZeRo Saga. However, his best performance yet was at 2GGC: Civil War, where he impressed the crowd by running through players such as Trela, komorikiri, and Nairo among other top players until he was defeated by Dabuz in Grand Finals to end at 2nd place.
On April 17th, 2016, Fatality was signed by True AmBition,[1] and shortly after left the team on August 16th.[2] On October 27th, 2016, he was signed by FlySociety,[3] from which he left on April 18th, 2017.[4] On May 18th, Fatality was signed by Team YP.[5] Over a year later, on June 28th, 2018, Fatality and Team YP parted ways.[6] Fatality would eventually be signed by eSports Ecosystem on September 21st, 2018.[7] On April 2nd, 2019, Fatality left eSports Ecosystem.[8]
Playstyle
Fatality implements heavy usage of dash-dancing, utilizing it for spacing, mind games, and approaches. He is known for his heavy punish game, 0-to-K.O. combos, and impressive off-stage proficiency. In order to KO his opponents (often times at very early percents) Fatality incorporates air dodge reads and a myriad of kill set-ups, all with style. He is also reputable for his consistent usage of footstool combos.
Tournament history
Starting with Project M
Fatality initially competed in Project M tournaments, and mainly attended Tipped Off tournaments. First one being Tipped Off 9 where he placed 5th, losing to PPMD and ESAM. Later at Tipped Off 10, he won 2-0 against three players: Koozy, K, and MVD. However, he later lost to both Wizzrobe and ESAM 2-0, ending up in a placement of 7th. At Paragon Orlando 2015, he defeated Shroomed 2-0 and Lucky 2-1 until losing to Westballz 3-1, placing 7th.
2015-2016: and gradual rise in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
Although his time with Project M was short-lived. His time in Smash 4 was his major breakthrough as a player, showing his potential even further and becoming the best Captain Falcon in the world.
During the first year of Smash 4, Fatality took 1st place at many locals but didn't have much in terms of strong placements at important events, this will last until a 17th place finish at CEO 2015 after losing to Tyrant 2-1. EVO 2015 is his worst placement in a Smash 4 tournament with a placement of 65th, and started the trend of Fatality having underwhelming performances at the event.
However his status as a top player started with his 4th place finish at Super Smash Con 2015, defeating Mik! and Dabuz 2-1 until being sent to losers by ZeRo 3-0. In losers he defeated Angel Cortes 3-1 until being eliminated by Nairo 3-0. He later made back-to-back top 8 at SKTAR 4.
At The Big House 5, he got sent to losers by Ryuga 2-1, however, in losers he defeated Pink Fresh and Ksev 2-1 until being eliminated from the tournament by Zenyou 3-2, ending with a placement of 13th. He had three more strong placements with 9th at MLG World Finals 2015, 13th at Tipped Off 11, and 5th at Frame Perfect Series.
He was flown to 2GGT: Fatality Saga and ended the year with another top 8 placement of 7th. He lost to Xzaz and Ito 2-0 at the event.
Continuing into 2016, his results remained impressive and continued his status as the best Captain Falcon player in the world. GENESIS 3 was his first tournament of the year. After a early loss from Xieon, he defeated Exodia, Big D, Angel Cortes, and Nietono and lost to Larry Lurr, ending with a placement of 17th. He attended the first Frostbite and placed 5th.
He finished 2nd at Paradigm Shift. He won against RFang and Puppeh 2-0, and Aikota 3-0. In winners finals he lost to ESAM 3-0, defeated Kai 3-0 in losers finals, then lost to ESAM again in grand finals.
At MomoCon 2016, he was able to place 9th at the event. After losing to Wrath 2-1, he defeated many players in losers such as Kola, C3PO, and ScAtt 2-0, TheReflexWonder 2-1, but then got eliminated by Ally in a 2-0 set. Later at CEO 2016, it had him defeat Seagull Joe, Zenyou, and FOW, but lost to Larry Lurr 2-1 and VoiD 2-0, placing 17th at the event.
Super Smash Con 2016 was a strong tournament for Fatality and won against many players such as DKwill and True Blue 2-0, Master Raven 2-1, losing to VoiD 3-2, then defeating Marss 3-1 and lost to Dabuz 3-2. He ended his tournament run at 7th place.
Another great placement happened at The Big House 6 in which after losing to Samsora 2-0, he had in strong losers run in which he defeated Renegade 2-1, Super Dan and Pugwest 2-0, later met Samsora again in losers bracket and won 3-2, Cosmos 3-1, Ri-ma 3-2 until being eliminated by Marss 3-1, ending with a placement of of 9th.
Despite his strong placements in those aforementioned events, he had a less than noteworthy placement at UGC Smash Open of 33rd, being defeated by CaptainZack 3-0 and tyroy 3-2.
His last tournament of 2016 was 2GGT: ZeRo Saga. He won against Kameme 3-2 then got sent to losers by Larry Lurr 3-0. In losers he lost to FOW 3-2 and lost to Dabuz 3-0, placing 13th.
2017: Continued Momentum

CEO 2017 he got sent to losers by Mr E in a 2-1 set. In losers he defeated MuteAce 2-0 and Kameme 3-1, but lost to Marss 3-1 and ended his tournament run in 17th place. EVO 2017 was similar to EVO 2015 where it was one of his weakest performances with 33rd place, losing to both Mistake and 9B.
After EVO he placed 17th at DreamHack Atlanta 2017 and lost to Mr E 2-0 and 3-2. Then at Get On My Level 2017, he defeated Smokk 2-0, Chrim Foish 3-1, DarkAura 3-0, then was sent to losers bracket by SuperGirlKels 3-2. In losers he won against Blacktwins 3-1 until losing to Larry Lurr 3-1 and placing 5th.
He later had back-to-back 17th placements at two tournaments: Super Smash Con 2017 where he lost to Salem 3-2 and Tweek 3-1. At 2GGC: SCR Saga he defeated yeti 2-0 and Lima 2-1, and lost to Nairo 3-0 and Kameme 3-2.
A month later, Fatality won a tournament and that was at Showdown: Battle Royale 2. He defeated Nom 3-1, Rivers 3-2, WaDi 3-1, and won winners and grand finals against Manny in both 3-1 sets.
He had a lower than average placement of 25th place at GameTyrant Expo 2017, losing to ANTi 2-0, defeating JJROCKETS 3-0 in losers, and was eliminated by Zenyou 3-1. He placed 3rd at Tipped Off 12, defeated RFang 3-0 and losing to both Salem and Mew2King in 3-2 sets.
At Super FamiCon 2017 he was upset by Kresent 3-2 in winners quarter-finals. His losers run had him defeat Leaf FC 3-0, Gael 3-1, DarkShad 3-0 before losing to Light 3-1.
His placements at 2GGC: GENESIS, Civil War, and SCR Saga allowed Fatality to qualify for 2GG Championship. However, he was one of the five qualifiers who placed last at the event with 16th place. This would be his last tournament of 2017.
2018: Last Year of Smash 4
2018 would end up being as strong of a year for him despite his previous breakthroughs with Captain Falcon at Civil War and MomoCon 2017. He will start by GENESIS 5 and after losing to Peli fairly early in bracket in a 2-1 set, his losers run was strong. He won against Deluxemenu and Cagt 2-0, Aarvark 2-1, Twan 3-0 before losing to Maister 3-1, placing 17th.
Afterwards he had a great performance of 5th place at Frostbite 2018, defeating Mew2King 2-1, Salem 3-2, and Cosmos 3-2, but lost to Mistake 3-0 and met Salem again in losers bracket and lost 3-1. At Get On My Level 2018 he lost to Glutonny 3-2, defeated V115 3-2, and was eliminated ANTi 3-1, ending with a placement of 25th.
He attended MomoCon 2018 and while it was notably less noteworthy compared to MomoCon 2017, he still defeated NAKAT 2-0, komorikiri 3-0, got sent to losers by Nairo 3-0 and was quickly eliminated by Wrath 3-2. He placed 9th at the event.
He placed 13th at CEO 2018, he lost Raito but in losers won against Sinji 2-0, Mistake and Larry Lurr 3-1 until losing to Tweek 3-1. Showdown: Battle Royale 3 had Fatality beat Blacktwins 3-1 before being sent to losers by Larry Lurr 3-1. His losers run had a win against yeti 3-0 before being eliminated at 7th place by Zinoto 3-2.
At Smash Factor 7 he placed 3rd and was his last top 8 placement in Smash 4. He defeated Mexican players Nery 3-2 and Wonf 3-0. He lost to ANTi 3-0 and Larry Lurr 3-2.
He attended Super Smash Con 2018 and placed 17th at the event, just like Super Smash Con 2017. After losing to Blank 2-0, he beat Ramses 2-0, Juice 2-1, and Puppeh 3-1 before losing to WaDi 3-0.
Currently the last Smash 4 tournament he attended was DreamHack Atlanta 2018. He defeated Epic_Gabriel 2-0 and Ryo 2-0, RFang 2-1 and was sent to losers by Tweek 3-0. In losers he lost to Dark Wizzy 3-1, going out with a placement of 9th.
Late 2018-2019: Struggles in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
At first, Fatality had a decent start in the very early metagame of Ultimate, he had a strong placement at Super Splat Bros as Ally send him into losers bracket with a 3-2 set and later lost to Teb in another 3-2 set in losers top 16, placing 9th at the event. Then he will have his first top 8 placement at Midwest Mayhem Ultimate where he was sent to losers by Bushi 3-1, and then in losers defeated Panda Bair 3-1 until losing to T 3-2.
GENESIS 6 was his first tournament where he had a underwhelming placement for his standards. He was destroyed by MkLeo, getting 3 stocked twice in a 2-0 set, then lost to Captain L in losers and placed 65th at the event.
Frostbite 2019 had Fatality go on a impressive losers run after losing to Nairo 2-0, winning against Mr E and Blank 3-2, ZD 3-1, and then lost to Wishes 3-1, placing 17th. Despite earning a much better placement at an Ultimate S-Tier, he had a even worse placement of 97th at Pound 2019.
At MomoCon 2019 he placed 25th after losing to both Cosmos and Myran 3-0. His next tournament was DreamHack Dallas 2019 in which he defeated Sandstorm and Kosoku 2-0 until being sent to losers by Awestin 2-1. In losers he defeated MVD 3-0 and lost to ARMY 3-2, placing 5th at the event.
He made top 8 again of 4th place at 2GG: Grand Tour - South Carolina. He beat Benny&TheJets 3-1 and then lost to Tsu 3-2 in winners top 8 and won against Raito 3-2 before being eliminated by RFang 3-1.
Later at CEO 2019, he lost to Sinji 2-0, defeated Myran 2-0, Umeki and 8BitMan 2-1, then was eliminated by {Sm|Prodigy}} 2-0. He placed 17th at the event. The next tournament he attended was Low Tier City 7, and placed 25th.
EVO 2019 will end up being his worst placement in a tournament ever, with a placement of 129th, being sent to losers fairly early by Flow and then eliminated from losers bracket by MastaMario. He will eventually do much better at Super Smash Con 2019, taking out Plup and Puppeh 2-0 in winners bracket, then he would lose to Nairo in a 2-1 set, then beat Pelca 2-0 in losers, but then was defeated by BlazingPasta in a 3-0 set. He ended up with a placement of 25th.
After Super Smash Con, Fatality garnered a few decent placements, but not much in terms of notable wins. At Port Priority 5 he ended in 17th place after MVD sent him to losers in a 3-1 set and Captain L eliminated him from the tournament in another 3-1 set. A week later at Glitch 7, he lost to Dabuz 2-1 and was upset by Mekos 2-0, ending with a placement of 33rd. He later placed 65th at The Big House 9 where a 2-1 set against Cosmos sent him to losers bracket and was later upset by another player, Monty, in a 2-0 set.
For Syndicate 2019, he was voted to attend the tournament for its Ultimate compendium in which he defeated many Dutch players: Arthas 2-0 and WhYYZ 3-1. He later lost to Ogey 3-1 in a Falcon ditto, then went on a strong losers run where he won 3-0 against Whoophee, PurpleDebo, and PEW, while winning against Supahsemmie 3-2, until he lost to Flow 3-1, finishing with a placement of 9th.
At DreamHack Atlanta 2019, he will be sent to losers by ESAM 2-0. In losers, he defeated Kola and Mystearica until losing to MuteAce 3-1, ending his tournament run with a placement of 17th.
He ended the year with a 25th placement at 2GG: Kongo Saga where he lost to both WaDi 3-1 and Cosmos 3-2 before being eliminated.

Trivia
- Fatality always takes a brief respite before and after each round to compose himself. He will also sometimes exercise in preparation.
- Though Fatality is generally considered the best Smash 4 Captain Falcon player in the world, his record in the mirror match is less than exemplary:
- Against Max Ketchum, he lost 4-5 at EVO 2015 in a first to 5 $100 money match, despite being up 4-1 at one point.
- Against Acid, he lost 0-2 at Tipped Off 11, and placed 13th.
- Against ZeRo, he lost 0-2 in the Falcon round robin at 2GGT: Fatality Saga, and placed 2nd.
- He later defeated him in losers finals at MomoCon 2017, although they went 1-1 in games during the ditto.
- Against Draxsel and Smuff, he lost to them 0-2 and 1-2 respectively in the Falcon round robin at MomoCon 2018, later forfeiting the event and placing 65th.
- This record continues in Ultimate, with Fatality losing to Ogey 1-3 at Syndicate 2019, placing 9th.
- Against Stain, Fatality lost 1-2 in winners finals at 4o4 Ultimate Weekly 4.3.
- Fatality has a tendency to underperform at EVO tournaments, often resulting in some of the lowest placements he has ever had in his career.
- After winning the Best Combo (Wii U) award at Super Smash Con 2017's Smashies Award Show, Fatality mentioned Isai as the one who inspired him to become a Smasher in the first place, and that he tries to model his own style of gameplay after Isai's. [9]
