2GGC: GENESIS Saga was a Super Smash Bros. for Wii U tournament and the first qualifier in the 2GG Championship Series. It was held at the eSports Arena in Santa Ana, California, on January 14th, 2017. As its name implies, there were collaborations, donations, and special events to promote GENESIS 4 which took place the weekend after. Featured top players included ZeRo, MkLeo, Dabuz, komorikiri, VoiD, Marss, Tweek, Mr.E, ESAM, and MVD.

- In line with previous sagas by 2GG, the "Saga Curse" came to be as ZeRo, the winner of this tournament, did not win GENESIS 4 the next weekend (finishing at 3rd), which was the main theme of GENESIS Saga.
