Elegant is an SSBU Luigi player from Irvine, California who is currently residing in Chino Hills, California, and was formally considered as the best Luigi player in the world. Elegant has taken sets from players such as Tweek, Shuton, Cosmos, Samsora, Light, ESAM, Chag, and Maister. He was formerly ranked 2nd on the SoCal Ultimate Power Rankings, 8th on OrionRank Ultimate: Eclipse North America, 14th on OrionRank Ultimate: Eclipse, and 41st on the PGRU v3 NA.
Elegant is also a prominent SSB4 Luigi player who is considered as the best SSB4 Luigi player in the world. Elegant is currently ranked 5th on the SoCal All-Time Smash 4 Power Rankings and 27th on the Panda Global Rankings 100. He was formerly ranked at the 0 spot on the NorCal Smash 4 Power Rankings. He has taken sets off of top players such as Salem, Nairo, MkLeo, Ally, Larry Lurr, KEN, VoiD, and Mr.R.
He used to regularly team with Aarvark in doubles, and the pair was considered one of the best doubles teams in the world. More recently, he has shown great skill in Doubles with a variety of players, winning Get On My Level 2018 with SuperGirlKels, 2GG: Hyrule Saga with Stroder, Low Tier City 6 with Samsora, and The Big House 8 with Scend.
On March 22nd, 2017, both Elegant and Aarvark were signed by Beefy Smash Doods.[1] Over a year later, on April 13th, 2018, Elegant, along with fellow smashers Aarvark, quiK, and Izaw, parted ways with Beefy Smash Doods.[2] On May 31st, 2018, Elegant was sponsored by Unseen Gaming.[3] Sometime afterwards, he parted ways with Unseen. On July 12th, Elegant signed with Nevermore eSports.[4] On February 21st, 2020, Elegant announced that he had joined Armada eSports.[5]
Playstyle
Elegant's playstyle remains mostly the same from SSB4 to SSBU, and is highly characterized through his potent punish game, his quick movement, and unpredictable choices in neutral. He has a mastery of Luigi's combos and recovery, making use of his powerful grab and combo game, and offsetting the character's exploitable recovery by recovering in different and unusual ways. Due to the amount of combo starters Luigi has, Elegant uses these to frame trap and DI mixup his opponents, doing massive amounts of damage and potentially pulling a zero-to-death combo.
Elegant was also well known for his ability to button mash efficiently. This skill was especially evident in his ability to spike opponents with Luigi Cyclone in SSB4, which is only possible if the player mashes enough to make Luigi rise and prevent the attack's final hitbox from connecting. As Elegant was proficient as this technique, his edge guarding ability was on point, allowing him to gimp players at low percentages and make comebacks off of a single neutral win. Additionally, he would make great use of Luigi Cyclone to mix up his recovery, as his proficiency in mashing allowed him to gain significant height from the move. Although these effects were removed in Ultimate, effectively worsening the move by taking out its ability to gimp and removing its recovery potential, Elegant makes use of Luigi Cyclone's newly added trait of having invincibility frames within the startup of the move to combo break his opponents, kill off the top of the stage, brute force his way through an opponent, or cover the ledge. Elegant also makes use of Luigi's newly added tether to create space between him and his opponent, start combos, and edgeguard.
Elegant is also known for his upper body shake he does before sets, which he has dubbed the, "Elegant Shake" which he claims gets rid of nerves he may have before a set.

Drunken behavior controversy
On September 5th, 2022, Shannon, a former friend of Elegant, posted a TwitLonger discussing Elegant's poor behavior when drunk. In the TwitLonger, she noted how there were two incidents where Elegant's drunken behavior had affected her. The first incident was at Collision 2022, where both of them were drunk and had sex, a moment which despite haunting her, she decided to try and let go, as she believed she had handled the incident irresponsibly. The second incident took place after Super Smash Con 2022, where she was slightly intoxicated but Elegant was inebriated. Despite Shannon telling Elegant that due to what had happened at Collision 2022 his drunken behavior made her feel uncomfortable, Elegant still preceded to hang around her, hug her, and even asked her to stay at his place, as if he was oblivious to her complaints, leading Shannon to lose all trust in him.[6] During the TwitLonger and in subsequent Tweets, she highlighted that her purpose of posting the TwitLonger was not to "cancel" Elegant, but to give him a wake-up call to a problem that he has.[7]
Elegant initially wrote two TwitLongers detailing his side of his story. He conceded that the two were drunk and had sex during Collision 2022 but was adamant that both parties had consented, a point that Shannon was assuming as well.[8] He also thought that he and Shannon were fine after the situation as they seemingly didn't show ill-will towards each other. On the second incident, although he admitted he didn't remember what took place, he conceded that he had a drinking problem but believed he had gotten better about it.[9] Elegant eventually deleted both TwitLonger in order to write a more detailed one, which in addition to what was explained before, he also added how the two did talk about the first incident following the end of Collision 2022, which led Elegant to believe the two had talked everything through, and that despite being surprised at Shannon unfriending him, he gave her space by not interacting with her prior to the second incident. He concluded the new TwitLonger by agreeing that he should be held accountable for his actions and that he would no longer drink after Smash tournaments.[10]
Further accusations have since been levied against Elegant from several others, including Elegant's ex-girlfriend.[11][12][13] Despite taking place in different tournaments, all the TwitLongers highlighted Elegant's behavior after becoming drunk and dismissed his claim that he had been working on his behavior.
In response to his actions, Elegant would be banned indefinitely from all events in multiple regions including, but not limited to SoCal,[14] Texas,[15] and Las Vegas, Nevada.[16]
