Tournament history section[edit]
Hey, I noticed you've been adding a lot to the tournament history sections. Just want to give a few tips:
- There is often going to be some recency bias when making edits to the section in the middle of the year, while we also don't tend to get the full picture of a player's performances until at the end of the season. As such, in order to mitigate having to make multiple edits to the section or add anything that will be quickly become outdated, I tend to prefer making edits to these sections at the end of the season, or even year.
- These sections should not be real-time reports. Having just a list of tournaments a player has been to or a list of wins a player has isn't really interesting on its own. What I usually like to do is to summarize a player's overall season by pointing out some highs and lows; not every win has to be noted, especially on players that the player was certainly better than. In addition, not every set played needs to be mentioned, since it's not usually too interesting to report it unless it's an upset or a top player that was in the way of a notable Winner's/Losers run.
- Tags only need to be linked once per section. Any repeat after that is unnecessary. CookiesCreme 00:40, December 24, 2023 (EST)
Adding rankings[edit]
Hey another heads up, when adding rankings to the infobox, make sure to only add the "greater" ranking. In this case, only the LumiRank 2023 should be listed in the infobox. The only reason some players have two rankings is because UltRank 2022 and OrionRank 2022 were on the same prestige level, but one was a half-year ranking while the other was a full-year ranking. However this is likely just a one-time thing.
In addition, do not forget to add a colon in front of the ranking name, for example, LumiRank 2023: 100th. CookiesCreme 13:18, January 11, 2024 (EST)
