The Black Hole (ブラックボール, Black Ball) is an item introduced in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It is based off a real-world Black Hole.
Overview
The Black Hole is an item that will set itself up in midair once thrown, creating a black hole. This then sucks in nearby fighters, items, and projectiles. While the hole itself deals no damage or knockback, fighters caught in the hole are continuously pulled into its center and forced into a tumble, leaving them extremely vulnerable to attacks from opponents and stage hazards. Moves that allow the user to move in quick bursts, such as Teleport, Warp, and Quick Attack, can be used to escape the black hole before it disappears, and fast attacks can be used repeatedly to deter other opponents from attacking while a player is trapped in a black hole.
It is likely that this item was based on the infamous black hole glitch that originated in Super Smash Bros. Melee and had various methods of its creation in future titles.
Spirits
