Bowser Jr. (SSB4)
This article is about Bowser Jr.'s appearance in Super Smash Bros. 4. For the character in other contexts, see Bowser Jr..

Bowser Jr. was unofficially revealed as a playable character in Super Smash Bros. 4 via leaked videos from footage used by ESRB to rate the game. He fights in the Junior Clown Car and uses various weapons from the Mario series, such as boxing gloves and Mecha-Koopas. Unlike the other characters, Bowser Jr. does not change colors, but is instead replaced by one of the Koopalings. He is voiced by Caety Sagoian.[1]

Attacks that strike the Clown Car will deal 0.88x damage, whereas those that hit Bowser Jr. himself will deal 1.15x damage.[2]

Special Moves

In Super Smash Bros. 4, special moves can be swapped out for different variants, and all of Bowser Jr.'s have been seen.[3] These are Bowser Jr.'s special moves:

  • Neutral special move - Clown Cannon: Bowser Jr. fires a cannonball from the Clown Car's mouth. The longer Bowser Jr. charges the attack, the farther the cannonball will fly. If the move is overcharged, the cannonball will be shot automatically.
    • Custom 1 - Piercing Steely: Cannonballs pierce through opponents, but it does less damage.
    • Custom 2 - Vortex Cannon: Cannonballs are replaced with a wind effect and take less time to charge.
  • Side special move - Clown Kart Dash: The Koopa Clown Car sprouts little wheels, backs up a little bit and then drives full speed ahead. At the end of the travel distance, the Clown Car will spin out.
    • Custom 1 - Super Spin Kart: The Clown Car goes a shorter distance and moves slower, but the spin attack becomes a multi-hit attack.
    • Custom 2 - Koopa Clown Steamroller: The Clown Car travels faster but the spin doesn't do any damage. It buries opponents on contact.
  • Up special move - Abandon Ship!: Bowser Jr. jumps out of the Koopa Clown Car, which explodes when it hits the ground. Bowser Jr. gains a new Koopa Clown Car upon hitting the ground or grabbing a ledge.
    • Custom 1 - Meteor Crash: The explosion becomes a meteor smash at the cost of vertical distance.
    • Custom 2 - Explosive Launch: ???
  • Down special move - Mechakoopa: Bowser Jr. drops a Mecha-Koopa from the hatch of the Clown Car as it walks forward. If it makes contact with an opponent, it will detonate. They can be picked up as items.
    • Custom 1 - Lazy Mecha Koopa: The Mecha-Koopa is launched as a vertical projectile and detonates upon contact.
    • Custom 2 - Giant Mecha Koopa: The Mecha-Koopa is larger and walks a shorter distance, but it does more damage.
