Item class Throwing/Effect

The Smoke Ball (ケムリ(たま), Kemuri Tama) is an item in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. When thrown, the ball emits smoke, which steadily changes color. This smoke can obscure the vision of players. If thrown at an opponent, it may attach itself to them and do a small amount of damage. When not attached to a player, the Smoke Ball can be picked up. If thrown upward it will bounce high upon hitting the ground. When the players hold an activated Smoke Ball, it will continue to release smoke until released and it disappears.

Trophy

Smoke Ball
An item that activates when tossed and fills the area with clouds of obscuring smoke. The smoke slowly changes color over time, from white to yellow, orange, red, purple, and finally blue before restarting the cycle. The smoke hangs around quite a while before dispersing. You can pick up an active smoke ball and hurl it again. Be careful not to lose track of yourself, though.

Trivia

  • If Luigi uses his Final Smash while holding an activated Smoke Ball, the smoke's color will not be affected.
  • If Snake uses his Final Smash while an activated Smoke Ball is attached to him, the Smoke Ball will still release smoke even while he is in the foreground, which can cover the entire screen.
  • Any existing smoke will instantly vanish when its parent Smoke Ball disappears (instead of fading away).
