Mii Brawler (Mii格闘タイプ, Mii Hand-to-Hand Fighting Type) is a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. They were confirmed as playable characters on June 12th, 2018 along with the other Mii Fighter types, Swordfighter, and Gunner. Mii Brawler is classified as fighter #51.
Changes from Super Smash Bros. 4
Aesthetics
- Players can customize the Mii Fighter's voice clips. Up to 12 voices are selectable.
- Mii Brawlers have had their body proportions adjusted.
- While still based off the "Guest C" Mii, the default Mii Brawler has an altered appearance. His hair is longer and he appears to be angry by default.
- The default outfits for the Mii Brawler has significantly more detail, featuring a stylized shirt with extra padding on their forearms and shins.
Attributes
- Like all characters, the Mii Brawler's jumpsquat animation now takes three frames to complete (down from 5).
- Mii Brawler dashes much faster.
- Mii Brawler has a faster falling speed.
- As with the other Mii Fighters, Mii Brawler no longer has varying sizes.
Ground attacks
- Neutral infinite is now performed with one hand.
- Forward smash now leaves an electrical trail on the Mii Brawler's fist, and the Mii Brawler no longer flexes during its ending animation.
- The move has significantly less endlag.
Aerial attacks
- Forward aerial has a different animation and is performed faster.
Special Moves
- Shot Put has less endlag.
- Ultimate Uppercut has been replaced by Flashing Mach Punch, a multi-hitting series of fast punches.
- Onslaught has a different animation, with the Mii also attacking the opponent with their fists, before finishing it off with a upward kick.
- Onslaught deals more damage and its second to last hit is now a meteor smash that drags opponents to the ground. This allows the entire move to connect more consistently at higher percents.
- Headache Maker has been replaced by Suplex, a command grab.
- Suplex covers more horizontal distance and goes through shields, due to it being a grab.
- If done in the air, Suplex can be used as a sacrificial KO, although this KOs the Mii Brawler first.
- Soaring Axe Kick's animation has been altered, and is performed significantly faster.
- The descending part of the move now has to be initiated manually, similar to Cloud's Climhazzard. This makes the move significantly more useful for recovery.
- Helicopter Kick travels significantly higher when used on the ground.
- The Mii Brawler has a new up special called Thrust Uppercut. It consists of a flaming uppercut with an explosion at the end, dealing five hits in total. The Mii Brawler switches his hands for the final hit. This move replaces Piston Punch.
- Head-On Assault is performed quicker.
- Head-On Assault now has a different ending animation that looks more fluid.
- The kick attack used during Feint Jump sends the Mii Brawler flying at a more downward angle. Additionally, the kick now surrounds itself in a blue aura instead of purple.
- The kick can now meteor smash opponents.
- The Mii Brawler now has a counterattack known as Counter Throw. After being hit, the Mii Brawler will grab the opponent before throwing the victim on the ground behind them. This move replaces Foot Flurry.
- Omega Blitz now has the Mii Brawler stay in one place while throwing a barrage of punches and kicks after dragging the opponent upward.
Role in World of Light
The Mii Brawler was absent in the World of Light trailer, though it presumably became a spirit alongside the rest of the galaxy (excluding Kirby) when Galeem unleashed its beams of light.
