—The Brawler's Ultimate description

The Mii Brawler (Mii格闘タイプ, Mii Hand-to-Hand Fighting Type) is a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. They were confirmed as playable characters on June 12th, 2018 along with the other Mii Fighter types, Swordfighter, and Gunner. Mii Brawler is classified as fighter #51.

Changes from Super Smash Bros. 4

The Mii Brawler has been the most extensively modified of the Mii Fighters, especially in terms of custom moves. With height and weight now being fixed, Mii Brawler is set in the role of a lightweight, close combat character, along the lines of Little Mac or Squirtle.

Aesthetics

  • Change Players can customize the Mii Fighter's voice clips. Up to 12 voices are selectable.
  • Change Mii Brawlers have had their body proportions adjusted.
  • Change While still based off the "Guest C" Mii, the default Mii Brawler has an altered appearance. His hair is longer, and he now sports a stern expression instead of a neutral one as he did in Smash 4.
  • Change The default outfits for the Mii Brawler has significantly more detail, featuring a stylized shirt with extra padding on their forearms and shins.
  • Change Sparkles now randomly appear on the Mii Brawler's shoes after jumping from knockback. This is merely aesthetic and has no effect on the Mii Brawler.

Attributes

  • Buff Like all characters, the Mii Brawler's jumpsquat animation now takes three frames to complete (down from 5).
  • Buff Mii Brawler dashes much faster.
  • Change Mii Brawler has a faster falling speed.
  • Change As with the other Mii Fighters, Mii Brawler no longer has varying sizes.
    • Change This includes a set weight of 94, on par with Ness, Lucas and Inkling, making the Mii Brawler the lightest Mii Fighter and lighter than the smallest possible Mii Fighter in Smash 4.

Ground attacks

  • Change Forward smash now leaves an electrical trail on the Mii Brawler's fist, and the Mii Brawler no longer flexes during its ending animation.
    • Buff Because of this, the move has significantly less endlag.

Aerial attacks

Special Moves

  • Shot Put:
    • Buff Shot Put has less endlag.
  • Onslaught:
    • Change Onslaught has a different animation, with the Mii also attacking the opponent with their fists, before finishing it off with a upward kick.
    • Buff Onslaught deals more damage and its second to last hit is now a meteor smash that drags opponents to the ground. This allows the entire move to connect more consistently at higher percents.
    • Buff Onslaught has a new mechanic: depending on how much damage Mii Brawler has accumulated, Onslaught will increase in damage. After each use of Onslaught at this period (whether it hits or not), the damage boost received will "reset", going back to doing it's base damage. This prevents abuse of the power increase.
  • Suplex:
  • Change This move, a command grab, now replaces Headache Maker.
    • Buff Suplex covers more horizontal distance and goes through shields, due to it being a grab.
    • Nerf If done in the air, Suplex can be used as a sacrificial KO, although this KOs the Mii Brawler first.
  • Soaring Axe Kick:
    • Buff Soaring Axe Kick's animation has been altered, and is performed significantly faster.
      • Buff The descending part of the move now has to be initiated manually, similar to Cloud's Climhazzard. This makes the move significantly more useful for recovery.
  • Head-On Assault:
    • Buff Head-On Assault is performed quicker.
    • Change Head-On Assault now has a different ending animation that looks more fluid.
    • Change The move no longer buries opponents. Instead, it launches opponents upwards.
  • Burning Dropkick:
    • Nerf Can no longer be charged, and now launches for a fixed distance after a brief pause, vastly reducing both its recovery range and its utility for mindgames.
  • Feint Jump:
    • Change The kick attack used during Feint Jump sends the Mii Brawler flying at a more downward angle. Additionally, the kick now surrounds itself in a blue aura instead of purple.
    • Buff When landing on an opponent during the descent of the flip, the Mii Brawler will now perform a kick that can meteor smash opponents.
  • Exploding Side Kick:
    • Buff The kick can be reversed much later, just before the kick comes out. Coupled with the new dodge mechanic, it makes it easier to punish a dodge.
Other special moves:
  • Buff Helicopter Kick travels significantly higher when used on the ground.
  • Change The Mii Brawler has a new up special called Thrust Uppercut. It consists of a multi-hitting uppercut, dealing five hits in total. The Mii Brawler switches their hands for the final hit. This move replaces Piston Punch.
  • Change Ultimate Uppercut has been replaced by Flashing Mach Punch, a multi-hitting series of fast punches
  • Change The Mii Brawler now has a counterattack known as Counter Throw. After being hit, the Mii Brawler will grab the opponent before throwing the victim on the ground behind them. This move replaces Foot Flurry.
  • Omega Blitz:
    • Change Omega Blitz now has the Mii Brawler stay in one place while throwing a barrage of punches and kicks after dragging the opponent upward, the initial attack is now an upwards-arcing heel kick, and the Final Smash finishes with a downward punch rather than a chop.

On-screen appearance

  • Lands with an explosion, does a flip kick, and makes a pose similar to its side taunt.

Taunts

  • Up taunt: Flips into a crane pose
  • Side taunt: Moves its fists into an "X" position before swinging its open hand to its
  • Down taunt: Punches twice towards the screen

Victory poses

One of Mii Brawler's victory poses.
  • Punches forwards, backfists diagonally downwards, and kicks upwards.
  • Performs its neutral infinite before ending with a final punch.
  • Cartwheels twice, performs a jumping roundhouse kick, and ends with a side kick.

Idle poses

  • Performs four quick fighting stances.
  • Unclenches its fists and hops on the spot, as if prepared for a fight.

Role in World of Light

Although the Mii Brawler does not appear in the World of Light opening cutscene, they were vaporized and later imprisoned alongside the rest of the fighters (Excluding Kirby) when Galeem unleashed his beams of light.

The Mii Brawler was one of the many fighters that fell under Dharkon's control upon Galeem's first defeat. The Brawler can be fought in the Sacred Land sub-area after completing an optional time puzzle on the Triforce of Wisdom section to then join the other fighters.

Defeating the Mii Brawler automatically adds the default Mii Brawler under the name Mii with a default 1111 moveset to the list of Mii Fighters for all modes where Mii Fighters are usable.
