Aesthetics

  • Change As with all veterans returning from SSB4, Luigi's model features a more subdued color scheme. His hair and clothing now features simple detailing, similar to Brawl.
  • Change Like most of the returning roster, Luigi has become much more expressive than in the previous games.
    • Change His eyes during the last pose of his up taunt are now shut, displaying terror rather than surprise.
  • Change Luigi has a new dashing animation akin to how he runs in Luigi's Mansion.
  • Change His attacks are much more vibrant such as a vortex forming when he performs Luigi Cyclone, spinning when Green Missile misfires, or wincing in the final part of his up taunt. Additionally, Luigi's charging animation for the Green Missile has been changed.

Attributes

  • Buff Like all characters, Luigi’s jumpsquat now takes three frames to complete.

Ground Attacks

  • Change Luigi has a new up tilt, a short uppercut.
  • Change Side tilt has an altered animation.
  • Buff Side tilt appears to be slightly faster.

Special Moves

  • Change Luigi's Super Jump Punch sweetspot now uses the new "Power Hit" effect.
  • Buff Super Jump punch has significantly decreased landing lag.
