Special Stages is an official term referring to the various "special" stages appearing in the Super Smash Bros. series. Most of the special stages "fly" through space, or have a cosmic background. In Super Smash Bros. Melee [[Battlefield (SSBM)]|Battlefield] and [[Final Destination (SSBM)]|Final Destination] are dubbed under the category "Special Stages" and are the only stages in the game in that category. In Super Smash Bros. Brawl the Battlefield and Final Destination stages return.
