Plenty of Pokémon cameo in the anime before their official debuts, and the XD appearance was just another one of those - a cameo. You can't actually use Munchlax in XD. Ruby & Sapphire did not have any data for Munchlax, and so could not be used in the games (or playability in the spinoffs, as they could sometimes connect with the main games), but as the Pokemon undeniably existed, Game Freak thought Munchlax might as well have had some cameos, such as its appearances in XD and Dash. Out of the clones from Melee, Falco's had arguably the most changes for Brawl; yet he remains near the top of the tier list in both games. Which incarnation is more liked?

I like the Mario Circuit stage itself more, but I like playing in Port Town Aero Dive more. Also, seeing a Lv. 9 Mario use Super Jump Punch underneath the bottom leaf, and push it upwards with the attack so he can't recover, resulting in a victory for the Lv. 1 Toon Link was a marvellous event for me.
