Greetings! My username may be MtnDewholic, but back in the day I was called Oxico. Some call me Oxico (or "O2" for short), some call me Dewie. Take your pick, I'll go by either. I don't like to give much about myself away to people other than my closest friends. But I will tell you I've been playin' Smash Bros. since the very first game. Same goes for Pokémon too, actually. Hence my obvious favoritism for Pokémon characters. More details to come! In the mean time, here's a character layout I designed for Chell from Portal 2.

Test Subject

Overview

Now I know there's zero chance of this character EVER being in Smash Bros. Nonetheless, it was fun to devise this moveset. And so, I share it with you. The way I picture it, Chell (or as she would be called in-game, "Test Subject") would wield the fabled Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device. With it, she'd "portal in" various objects from Aperture Laboratories (essentially pulling them out of hammerspace). To add a bit of character to this character, I'd imagine that GLaDOS would be in her potato form attached to the Portal Gun. That way, things are a bit more interesting.

Moveset

Ground Attacks

  • Neutral attack – Swings the Portal Device, then elbows, and then does a roundhouse kick.
  • Dash attack – Sticks the Portal Device in front of her, jabbing with its claws. Horizontal knockback.
  • Strong side – Does a quick shoot kick.
  • Strong up – Uppercut swing with the Portal Device.
  • Strong down – Low sweeping kick.

Smash Attacks

  • Forward smash – Portals in a Discouragement Beam Redirection Cube and jabs it forward, hitting the enemy with the laser-filled cube.
  • Up smash – Portals in a Discouragement Beam Redirection Cube and holds it up, letting it spin around with laser energy inside.
  • Down smash – Two oddly colored portals appear, and the Cooperative Testing Robots rise out of them, doing damage.

Aerial Attacks

  • Neutral aerial – Does a quick somersault and performs an axe kick. Powerful meteor smash.
  • Forward aerial – Portals in a Weighted Storage Cube and swings it downward in front of herself. Meteor Smashes on the last part of the attack. GLaDOS can be heard saying “Take this!”
  • Back aerial – Portals in a Weighted Storage Cube and spins, swinging it behind herself.
  • Up aerial – Jabs the Portal Device’s “claws” upward.
  • Down aerial – A stall-then-fall foot thrust downward.

Grabs & Throws

  • Note: Uses the Portal Device’s short range telekinesis to grab opponents.
  • Pummel – Zaps the opponent with the Portal Device.
  • Forward throw – Pushes the opponent away quickly with the PD’s telekinesis.
  • Up throw – Lifts the opponent while a portal opens up beneath them and a bomb emerges from it and explodes upon contact with the enemy.
  • Down throw – Drops the opponent then roundhouse kicks them away.
  • Back throw – Lifts the opponent up and slams them down behind Test Subject.

Special Moves

  • Neutral special – Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device: One button press sends forward an orange projectile, and then the next button press stops the projectile and turns it into a suspended orange portal. Repeat the process, only with a blue projectile, to create a blue portal. Touching one portal transports the player instantaneously to the other.
  • Side special – Aperture Science Personality Construct: Portals in a random Personality Core and jabs it forward. Each sphere has a different effect:
    • Morality Core: Inflicts shadow damage and knocks the opponent behind Test Subject.
    • Curiosity Core: Acts as if it’s looking around frantically, and says “Who are you?” Has an effect similar to ZSS’s paralyzer.
    • Intelligence Core: Heals Test Subject ten points of damage, but as a weapon it can only be used to “push” enemies, inflicting knockback without damage or hitstun.
    • Anger Core: Furiously growls and wobbles around angrily. This sphere deals damage to Test Subject when it’s pulled out, but if it hits an opponent, it is equivalent to being hit with a smash attack from the Home Run Bat. Deals fire damage as well.
    • Wheatley: Spins his eye around in its socket, dealing a lot of damage with multiple hits, but deals little knockback. Says “whooooooa” while spinning.
    • Space Core: Yells “SPAAAAACE!!!” when taken out and deals completely vertical knockback. Its eye twitches and shrinks as well.
    • Adventure Core: Starts singing his “Adventure Song”. Has the capability to Meteor Smash the opponent, but oddly does slashing damage.
    • Fact Core: Claims “the cake is a lie” and shrinks the opponent and puts a flower on their head if it hits.
  • Down special – Aperture Science Turret: Portals in a turret that is held for about 3 seconds, and can shoot to do damage. Turret sometimes speaks, saying lines such as “Target Locked” and “Deploying”.
  • Up special – Aperture Science Excursion Funnel: Portals in a tractor beam that carries her (albeit a bit slowly) upwards for six seconds.
  • Final Smash – Genetic Life-form and Disk Operating System: Test Subject attaches POTaTOS to a panel. GLaDOS portals everyone (except Test Subject, who disappears in a portal) to her chamber, a single-platform stage not unlike Final Destination although smaller. Deadly neurotoxin builds damage while robot arms dive in to do high knockback. The single platform is covered in Repulsion Gel which causes it to be bouncy, forcing enemies to be airborne. The FS lasts only about ten seconds, but all the while GLaDOS taunts the players on their poor performance.

Misc.

Victory Poses

  • Up – Test Subject sits on a Companion Cube, resting the portal gun on it while she eats a piece of cake. GLaDOS says “Congratulations. Was it worth it?”
  • Side – Test Subject falls onto the screen with a loud bang, brandishing the portal gun. GLaDOS says “I can’t believe it. We’re still alive.”
  • Down – Test Subject creates two portals on the ground, and drops GLaDOS into one. GLaDOS says “Now you’re thinking with portals.”

Victory Theme

  • Instrumental version of the end of Cara Mia.

On-Screen Appearance

  • Steps out of an elevator, while GLaDOS says “the device has been modified.”

Taunts

  • Up – Poses with the portal device, brushing her hair back. GLaDOS says “Stop posturing and continue testing.”
  • Side – Takes GLaDOS off the end of the portal device, inspecting her briefly before putting her back on. GLaDOS says “I’m a potato.”
  • Down – Kneels and aims with the portal device, while GLaDOS says “Let’s get some!”

Character selection

  • GLaDOS says “Begin testing”.
