Bowser Jr. was unofficially revealed as a playable character in Super Smash Bros. 4 via leaked videos from footage used by ESRB to rate the game. He fights in the Junior Clown Car.

How to unlock

Complete one of the following:

• Clear Classic Mode on 7.0 difficulty or higher with Bowser.
• Play 100 VS. matches.

Bowser Jr. must then be defeated at 3D Land.

Known Moveset

• Neutral Attack: Uses the boxing gloves from New Super Mario Bros. U.
• Dash Attack: Uses Grinders from Super Mario World.
• Up tilt: Uses a fork.
• Forward Tilt: Uses a fork.
• Down Tilt: Uses the tongue of the Koopa Clown Car.
• Up Smash: Uses the propellor of the Koopa Clown Car.
• Forward Smash: Uses a pair of drills.
• Down Smash: Uses wrecking balls.
• Neutral Aerial: Uses the boxing gloves from New Super Mario Bros. U.
• Forward Air: Uses a wrecking ball.
• Back Air: Uses a wrecking ball.
• Up Air: Uses a hammer.
• Down Air: Uses a drill.
• Grab: Extends a part of the Koopa Clown Car to grab the opponent.
• Pummel: Uses a red hammer.

Special Moves

Note: these names are unofficial in both Japanese and English.

• Neutral Special: Cannonball: shoots a Cannonball
• Side Special: Koopa Kart: The Koopa Clown Car gains wheels and drives forward, similar to the Wario Bike.
• Up Special: Junior Jump: Bowser Jr. jumps out of the Koopa Clown Car, which explodes when it hits the ground. Bowser Jr. gains a new Koopa Clown Car upon hitting the ground or grabbing a ledge.
• Down Special: Mecha Koopa: Summons a Mecha Koopa. The Mecha Koopa can be picked up as an item.
• Final Smash: Shadow Mario: Turns into Shadow Mario, who paints a giant X that covers the screen. Any opponent caught in the X will be damaged.

Palette swaps

Bowser Jr. doesn't change colors for his palette swaps. Instead, he is replaced with one of the Koopalings.

• Green - Has Bowser Jr. in a green Clown Car.
• Light Blue - Has Larry Koopa replace Bowser Jr. and the Clown Car becomes light blue.
• Red - Has Roy Koopa replace Bowser Jr. and the Clown Car becomes red.
• Pink - Has Wendy O. Koopa replace Bowser Jr. and the Clown Car becomes pink.
• Light Green - Has Iggy Koopa replace Bowser Jr. and the Clown Car becomes light green.
• Brown - Has Morton Koopa Jr. replace Bowser Jr. and the Clown Car becomes dark brown.
• Yellow - Has Lemmy Koopa replace Bowser Jr. and the Clown Car becomes yellow.
• Blue - Has Ludwig Von Koopa replace Bowser Jr. and the Clown Car becomes blue.
