The Prince of the Sablé Kingdom (サブレ王国の王子, Sabure ōkoku no ōji) is the main protagonist from the Japan-only game Kaeru no Tame ni Kane wa Naru. He is set to appear in at least Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS as an Assist Trophy in which he can transform into his frog or snake forms and attack players.
In Super Smash Bros. Brawl
The Prince appears under the romanization "Sabure Prince" as a sticker.

In Super Smash Bros. 4
Sablé Prince appears as an assist trophy and can transform into his frog or snake forms and trap opponents in dust clouds.
Origin
The dust clouds are a reference to the combat system in Kaeru no Tame ni Kane wa Naru, which is a turn-based combat system that pits the player and their enemy in a battle within a dust cloud, exchanging hits until one is defeated. The ability to turn into a frog is gained through a potion given to the player by the witch Mandola, which allows the player to transform into a frog by touching cold water. Transforming back into a human requires the use of another potion bought from Mandola later in the game, which lets the player transform into a human by almost dying (which can be achieved by eating Joy Fruit) or into a snake by eating snake eggs.
Trivia
- Sakurai's mention in his Pic of the Day post on Miiverse that he doesn't know the Sablé Prince's name is a reference to the fact that the player chooses the name for the prince. The character has no official name.
