Well thanks! To be honest, I have a lot of free time, and I enjoy helping, so thats why I've been making so many edits lately. Whenever there isn't new info, I just click Random Page and see if theres anything I can improve! ...Or are you happy to have me here for a completely different reason? x3 FirstaLasto (talk) 11:35, 16 February 2014 (EST)
...Oh I see, it's a welcome message template. -.- FirstaLasto 13:22, 5 May 2014 (EDT)

SW:1RV[edit]

If someone undoes your edit, don't just undo them back, post about it on the talk page and discuss the edit with the person who undid it and come to an agreement instead of edit warring. DoctorPain99 17:40, 11 March 2014 (EDT)

I explained the reason for undoing their post in my edit summary. Don't worry, I wasn't trying to start an edit war, it just seemed like the issue wasn't significant enough to start discussing in the talk page because of my explanation being simple. If the other person disagrees with my reasoning, I'm okay with leaving it alone (I was actually trying to write as much in the edit summary, but I ran out of room). Sorry about that. FirstaLasto 17:59, 11 March 2014 (EDT)
Ah, okay, that's generally deemed acceptable. I usually add "Ignore 1RV if you disagree" in the edit summary when I do what you were describing (undoing once and being okay with the other person changing it back). DoctorPain99 18:28, 11 March 2014 (EDT)
Do what DP99 says. If you were going to go "ignore SW:1RV if you disagree", you should always make it clear in the edit summary. Otherwise it just looks a blatant violation of SW:1RV, and could lead to shit happening. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 19:10, 11 March 2014 (EDT)
Ah okay, thanks for the tip! I'll make sure to fit that in next time. Sorry for any problems I caused. FirstaLasto 20:14, 11 March 2014 (EDT)

'ey[edit]

You seem to know some Japanese. You heard of SW:1226? Toomai Glittershine ??? The Breegull 11:56, 16 April 2014 (EDT)

I made some adjustments to the SSB64 site translation a while back (might have been before I made my account), but honestly my Japanese is nowhere near perfect yet. It's more difficult translating entire sentences, often containing slang, than simply translating attack names. Thanks for reminding me, though; I might take another look and see what else I can do. Help[edit]

A user by the name of Bambifan101 on the DK wiki is vandalizing everything. Can you help fix things over there? --EpicWendigo (talk) 17:40, 27 April 2014 (EDT)

Um, I don't even use that wiki. Maybe you should notify an admin belonging to that site? Sorry :/ FirstaLasto 17:43, 27 April 2014 (EDT)

The admin wasn't there at the time. Thankfully, and as it turns, Omega Tyrant was the admin there, so he saw to everything getting fixed up. --EpicWendigo (talk) 17:55, 27 April 2014 (EDT)

Press kit?[edit]

Do you have a press kit where you're getting these images from? Miles (talk) 14:16, 10 June 2014 (EDT)

No, the Smash Bros website has them, but they aren't linked from the main page yet.

You just got ninja'd yo[edit]

Your call to choose which set of images to mark for deletion. MegaTron1XDDecepticon.png 03:07, 11 July 2014 (EDT)

This seems to happen a lot because other people rush to post them instead of taking the time to categorize them. FirstaLasto 03:09, 11 July 2014 (EDT)

Famitsu scans?[edit]

Where exactly are you getting these from? Miles (talk) 16:59, 16 July 2014 (EDT)

People linked them on talk pages. I have no idea where they got them. [1][2] FirstaLasto 17:02, 16 July 2014 (EDT)

yo FL[edit]

I can't reliably read this, so if you have time, can you go over which matches between smashers were played? I figured out some of them with deduction but it's kind of a pain to have to sort a messy bracket out that isn't even in a language I can read. Thanks! --Timson622222 (talk) 17:38, 16 July 2014 (EDT)

Sure, I'll just post an edit of the image. Hold on a bit. FirstaLasto 18:01, 16 July 2014 (EDT)

Thanks again. --Timson622222 (talk) 19:34, 16 July 2014 (EDT)
どういたしまして! :D Having someone ask me to translate for them makes me feel useful >w<. Feel free to come to me if you need anything else! FirstaLasto 19:42, 16 July 2014 (EDT)
Why did you think you were useless? Your contributions and membership are always valued. blue ninjakoopa 20:44, 16 July 2014 (EDT)

Your rollback[edit]

We both seem to have forgotten that you have an unresolved RfR. If you're still interested, you should probably go revive it - I believe I last asked for one more potential rollback edit. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Incomprehensible 21:58, 21 September 2014 (EDT)

Er, sorry about that, I had been away from the wiki avoiding spoilers. Is it too late to provide one more, or do I need to redo the entire process? FirstaLasto 16:53, 3 November 2014 (EST)
I'd closed your RfR about half a month ago because you were inactive in providing a response. Given your valid reason for being so, I won't impose any penalty should you wish to try again immediately, and you may use any examples from your previous attempt. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Pan-Galactic 17:15, 3 November 2014 (EST)
Oh hey, that's awfully kind of you! I'll go remake my request post, then. FirstaLasto 17:18, 3 November 2014 (EST)

General rule on translations[edit]

I haven't gone and done this thoroughly yet, but romaji in general aren't necessary to provide for Japanese names since they're easily reproduced by machine. It's better to just provide a translation even if it matches the official localization. The only way in which adding romaji would be beneficial is if we change our {{ja}} template to have the romaji as the mouse-over text, like Bulbapedia. Otherwise, I would recommend against going out of your way to add it. Miles (talk) 19:24, 5 November 2014 (EST)

Oh, sorry about that. Wish I knew about that earlier; I've done hundreds of translations for this site already, and I always provided romaji for the ones with identical translations. FirstaLasto 20:00, 5 November 2014 (EST)
As I said, I haven't implemented that consistently yet, so I don't fault you for not being aware that was the goal. Still, I hope that clears up the issue going forward. (Also, it's a low-priority change to implement, so I'm not planning on changing those en masse until well after SSBU comes out.) Miles (talk) 20:08, 5 November 2014 (EST)
I'll keep it in mind for future translations, and I'll help fix what I've done once the time comes. FirstaLasto 20:17, 5 November 2014 (EST)
Sorry to butt in here, but here's a problem. Bulbapedia has been off-limits to editing for a while due to the upcoming Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, so I'm not sure if I can grab a sample from their romaji templates. --SneaselSawashiro (talk) 22:58, 1 December 2014 (EST)
First, while it's edit-locked, you can still view page source. Second, our {{ja}} already does that. I've implemented it somewhat hastily, but look at a page like Mushroom Kingdom II to see what I think is a good implementation. Miles (talk) 23:07, 1 December 2014 (EST)

Thanks for checking my work on the translations and such as I go through these for template implementation. It helps to have a more knowledgeable Japanese speaker assist. Miles (talk) 11:26, 8 December 2014 (EST)

No problem. For most of these you've simply moved around the information already there, so there isn't much room for error, but I thought I'd check on the ones you made changes to as well. FirstaLasto 11:28, 8 December 2014 (EST)

Regarding prerelease images[edit]

if it ain't beta it don't need no tag, they're just tagged to do a double-check of "is this beta", if not we can drop the tag Miles (talk) 01:39, 7 April 2015 (EDT)

Oh sorry, I thought pre-release tags were just to dictate that the image was made public prior to release. FirstaLasto 01:55, 7 April 2015 (EDT)
