The Skill parameter has been removed from Smasher infoboxes, and in its place are the new "Best historical ranking" and "Best tournament result" parameters. SmashWiki needs help adding these new parameters to Smasher infoboxes, refer to the guidelines here for what should be included in these new parameters. |
When adding results to Smasher pages, include each tournament's entrant number in addition to the player's placement, and use the {{Trn}} template with the matching game specified. Please also fix old results on Smasher pages that do not abide to this standard. Refer to our Smasher article guidelines to see how results tables should be formatted. |

Marth (マルス, Marusu) will be a playable character in Super Smash Bros. 4. He was announced on the official website on November 7th, 2013. Visually, Marth's appearance has been updated based on his attire from the Japan-only DS game, Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem, Heroes of Light and Shadow.
Confirmed information
- Marth's attack trails are much brighter at the tip, making the sweetspot of his attacks more visible than in previous games.
- The following attacks are visually unchanged:
- First hit of jab
- Dash attack
- Forward smash is stronger tipped
- Up smash
- Down smash
- Neutral aerial
- Down aerial
- The stab animation of Shield Breaker
- The first hit of Dancing Blade
- Dolphin Slash
- Counter
- Critical Hit
- Forward aerial deals weaker damage and appears to cover a wider range, and appears to have greater landing lag.
- Shield Breaker is now "much more powerful", though it is unclear if this means it will deal even more shield damage, it received a general power buff, or both.
- Forward throw has stronger knockback.
- Down throw sends foes at an upwards trajectory.
Special Moves
In Super Smash Bros. 4, special moves can be swapped out for different variants, but only a few of Marth's have been seen. Marth retains all of his original special moves.
Special Move | Basic | Custom 1 | Custom 2 |
---|---|---|---|
Neutral Special | Shield Breaker | "Shield Breaker Rush" | - |
Side Special | Dancing Blade | - | - |
Up Special | Dolphin Slash | - | - |
Down Special | Counter | - | - |
