Link (リンク, Rinku) will be a playable character in Super Smash Bros. 4. He retains his Special Moves Spin Attack, Bow, and Bomb. His design is heavily based on his appearances in both The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. The colour palette is taken from his appearance in Skyward Sword, but his hair, handedness, bracers, and bombs are similar to those in Twilight Princess. His 3DS look, however, resembles more closely his Twilight Princess appearance, with a similar color palette to Ocarina of Time.

Confirmed information

  • The following moves appear visually unchanged:
  • Down aerial has a meteor smash if the tip of the sword hits at the start of the move, though it has been stated this may be removed if deemed too powerful after playtests.
  • The Spin Attack seems to have been reverted back to its Melee form, as it has not been seen charging and already has very high knockback. As well, during the Little Mac reveal trailer, it seems to wobble up and down a bit, indicating possible directional properties.
    • The Spin attack also has two different trails in the Wii U and 3DS versions. The Wii U's trail is now more yellow, supported by two pictures, while the 3DS version's resembles Brawl's color trail; this can be supported by the red line that is seen in his recovery in the trailer.
