m (→‎Trivia: Kiwi NES adverts are very poorly preserved compared to their Australian and British counterparts, so I don't know if there's any localized Can't Be Beaten or Playing With Power adverts that predate the Best Shows ads or whatever. Also found UK adverts with "Playing with power", but like the AU and NZ ads, they're recycled and in lower quantity than the region-specific slogan. Should hopefully be my final ad-themed edit.)

*The name for the event in PAL regions is a reference to "Now you're playing with power!", a slogan used by Nintendo to promote the {{s|wikipedia|Nintendo Entertainment System}}, and later the {{s|wikipedia|Super Nintendo Entertainment System}} and {{s|wikipedia|Game Boy}}, which would often have words inserted into it, such as "Now you're playing with super power!" for the SNES and "Now you're playing with portable power!" for the Game Boy.
**Despite this, of the English-speaking PAL regions, none of them are known to have used the slogan primarily. In Australia, the slogan "It can't be beaten" (or its less-used but more well-known variant, "You cannot beat us") was used before adopting the slogan "The best shows on television" in the early 90s, which was also used in New Zealand, while in the UK, "The world's number one game system" was used. All 3 countries did occasionally use "Now you're playing with power" as an alternate slogan in select localized American commercials however.

Trivia[edit]

  • The name for the event in PAL regions is a reference to "Now you're playing with power!", a slogan used by Nintendo to promote the Nintendo Entertainment System, and later the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and Game Boy, which would often have words inserted into it, such as "Now you're playing with super power!" for the SNES and "Now you're playing with portable power!" for the Game Boy.
    • Despite this, of the English-speaking PAL regions, none of them are known to have used the slogan primarily.
