Dillon is the titular silent protagonist in the ''Dillon's Rolling Western'' series. The series has been a cross between Tower Defense and standard action games, having day sections, committed to tower building and mining, and dusk phases, where Dillon must protect a village from having its livestock being eaten by rock monsters called Grocks. Primarily, when in battle, he uses a combination of rolling into enemies, slashing at them with claws, or rapidly rotating against them whilst wearing metal spikes. | Dillon is the titular silent protagonist in the ''Dillon's Rolling Western'' series. Dillon (ジロー, Jiro) is the main protagonist from Dillon's Rolling Western.
Origin[edit]
Dillon is the titular silent protagonist in the Dillon's Rolling Western series.
In Super Smash Bros. 4[edit]
As an Assist Trophy[edit]
Dillon appears as an Assist Trophy in this game. He appears and tips his hat once before performing rolling attacks several times. His first few attacks have him charging up with a red tint, which does multiple 4% hits before he recoils back. His last attack is tinted yellow, and the charge can trap opponents into the final hit, which deals 18%, high knockback, and sends opponents offscreen along with himself where he disappears. If he falls offstage before the final spin attack, he will teleport back onstage. Like a few other Assist Trophies, he can be defeated by taking enough hits, whereby he falls on his chest defeated.
In Smash Tour[edit]
Dillon appears as a blue item in Smash Tour: when used, it will cause all other players encountered during that turn to be launched.
Trophy[edit]
Dillon's trophy appears in both versions of the game. In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U it is part of the Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS Trophy Box.

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[edit]
As an Assist Trophy[edit]
Dillon returns as an Assist Trophy, functioning similarly to how he did in Smash 4, but with some adjustments, most notably the final powerful spin attack is stronger. KOing him gives a point. This time, he is based on his appearance in Dillon's Dead-Heat Breakers.
Dillon cannot appear on Suzaku Castle, Minecraft World, and Cloud Sea of Alrest.
Spirit[edit]
Dillon also appears as an Ace-class primary spirit.
Dillon can be summoned using the cores of Wheelie, Sandshrew, and one Attack core.
Dillon's Spirit Battle uses a Sonic puppet fighter and is fought on the Midgar stage. During the battle, Dillon appears as a hostile Assist Trophy while Sonic favors his neutral special, referencing Dillon's rolling attack.

Trivia[edit]
- Not counting the Nintendog (which becomes a completely different individual breed in each installment), Dillon is the only Assist Trophy to receive a substantial aesthetic change in his appearance between installments, as in SSB4 he was based off of his appearance in Dillon's Rolling Western and its sequel, while in Ultimate, he is based off of his Dillon's Dead-Heat Breakers appearance.
