'''Battlefield''' ({{ja|戦場|Senjō}}, ''Battlefield'') is a ''[[Super Smash Bros. Brawl]]'' stage that was first confirmed at [[E3]] in 2006. It was also the first stage confirmed for ''Brawl''.

Announced at [[E3]] 2006, The '''Battlefield''' is a stage in ''[[Super Smash Bros. Brawl]]''. It's basic design is very similar to its Gamecube counterpart, although it appears to be made up of natural elements like earth or rock, unlike the more architectural design of ''[[Super Smash Bros. Melee]]''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s [[Battlefield (SSBM)|Battlefield]]. Also, the stage is bigger than in Melee, and the thin ledges of the original have been modified so characters have a less difficult time [[Sweet spot (ledge)|sweet spot]]ting as before. You can also wallhug near the ledge, unlike Final Destination. The stage also has a giant sundial on the main platform as well as a [[Time change|day-and-night cycle]]; however, unlike [[Smashville]], the cycle is not based on real time, but rather cycles between day and night very quickly.

Its design contains recognizable and natural elements such as foliage, stone structures, and a landscape background. The stage cycles through different [[Time change|times of day]], each with its own distinct background visuals and light. The cycle does not reflect the actual time of day in reference to real time (unlike [[Smashville]]), it instead begins in its morning state, then progresses through daytime, evening, night and dawn phases, and returns to original morning state after three minutes. The stage's central platform features a sundial with a shadow that changes with the stage's time of day. Also, the bottom of the stage has a glowing, semi-transparent purple crystal that spins around slowly.

Battlefield (戦場, Battlefield) is a Super Smash Bros. Brawl stage that was first confirmed at E3 in 2006. It was also the first stage confirmed for Brawl.

Stage overviewEdit

Its layout is very similar to that of its Super Smash Bros. Melee counterpart - it consists of a central hard platform with ledges that may be hung from, and three stationary soft platforms that float above the hard platform. The stage elements are larger than those of Melee's Battlefield, and the blast lines that surround them are situated further away. The slopes on the stage's underside, beneath the ledges, can be "hugged", allowing many characters to more easily and more flexibly recover from offstage.

Its design contains recognizable and natural elements such as foliage, stone structures, and a landscape background. The stage cycles through different times of day, each with its own distinct background visuals and light. The cycle does not reflect the actual time of day in reference to real time (unlike Smashville), it instead begins in its morning state, then progresses through daytime, evening, night and dawn phases, and returns to original morning state after three minutes. The stage's central platform features a sundial with a shadow that changes with the stage's time of day. Also, the bottom of the stage has a glowing, semi-transparent purple crystal that spins around slowly.

Tournament legalityEdit

Battlefield has always been a tournament legal stage in competitive play, in accordance with the Smash Back Room's tournament ruleset.
