He is currently ranked 14th on the discontinued Japan Player Rankings, 89th on the Experimental Smash Player Rankings, and 108th on the LumiRank 2023.

In SSB4, Nietono was a Sheik and Diddy Kong player, and was considered one of the best Sheik players in the country (along with Eim) and the best Diddy Kong player in the country. Nietono was ranked 5th on the JAPAN Power Rankings and 33rd on the Panda Global Rankings 100. He has taken sets off of top players in Smash 4 such as Tweek, KEN, komorikiri, Abadango, Marss, kameme, Ranai, and Mistake. He placed 3rd at EVO 2018.

In SSBB, he was an Olimar player, and was considered the best Olimar player in the world, notably placing 2nd at Apex 2012, the largest Brawl tournament of all time.

On November 9th, 2014, Nietono joined DetonatioN Gaming as their first Smash player. He announced his retirement from competitive Smash on July 26th, 2024.[1] His sponsorship was among the longest-standing in Smash history.
