Biography

SSB4

FOW began as a really strong player, many considering him to be top 15, or even top 10. He had great placings such as 5th at GENESIS 3, 7th at EVO 2015, 4th at PAX Arena, 2GGT: FOW Saga, 2GGT: Fresh Saga, and 9th at LVL UP EXPO 2016. During this time, he defeated players such as Ally, ANTi, ESAM, Larry Lurr, Mew2King, Vinnie, VoiD, and taking ZeRo to game 5. With all of these results and wins, FOW was ranked 12th on the Panda Global Rankings v1.

FOW started to drop off in the 2nd season, usually attending 1-2 tournaments per month, and most being local Las Vegas tournaments. His placings weren't as good as before, placing 25th at CEO 2016, 33rd at EVO 2016, and after a 4 months hiatus of not attending a major tournament, he placed 17th at 2GGT: ZeRo Saga. Because of this, FOW was absent from the PGR v2.

In the 3rd season starting in 2017, FOW placed 49th at GENESIS 4, and made a return after attending 2GGC: Civil War, where he placed 25th, causing a major upset against Larry Lurr and taking out Luhtie 3-0 after Luhtie defeated ZeRo. FOW then placed 33rd at 2GGC: Greninja Saga, then made an amazing run at 2GGC: Nairo Saga, placing 13th, defeating Rich Brown, Mr. ConCon, Marss, Pugwest, and Locus. These wins and placements got him to be ranked 50th on the PGR v3.

After months of not attending tournaments and not sending anything on social media, FOW announced that he will resume his Smash career on Twitter and continues to have streams about Smash 4 and Splatoon.

Playstyle

FOW's playstyle with Ness is centred around his zoning capabilities, enabling him to quickly react to his opponent's options. He is also known for his intensive mindgames, and offensive edge guarding along with being able to consistently read his opponent with the use of PK Thunder.

As a Meta Knight player in Brawl, FOW was known for his highly aggressive play, taking calculated risks to outmaneuver his opponents.

False sexual harassment allegations

On September 15th, 2018, Jennifer Sawtelle, a girl on Twitter who goes by the handle "Luffy No Umi", claimed that FOW had done several things to harm her in 2016, including making many sexual acts towards her without her consent, making extremely harsh comments towards her such as, "No, I only kiss people who I love," and insulting his friends and even his own girlfriend that he allegedly cheated on. As evidence for these claims, Jennifer provided screenshots from a Discord chat that she had with FOW. While FOW confirmed that the screenshots were real, he denied these claims and has said that he "needed to share his side of the story since the screenshots were out of context." [1] [2] [3]

A few days later, on September 20th, 2018, Hita, one of FOW's friends who was mentioned in Sawtelle's posts, came out and confirmed FOW's statement that the posts were taken out of context. In a Google Document, she stated that Jennifer had manipulated the story, adding in stories such as the sexual abuse, and that the sexual relationship between Jennifer and FOW was consensual. She also confirmed FOW's statement that the Discord screenshots were just role play between Sawtelle and him. Hita believed that the only reason Jennifer released the screenshots was because she was upset that FOW didn't return his feelings towards her. To support her claim, Hita provided her own Discord screenshots of conversations between her, Jennifer, and FOW, and pointed out specific statements, as well as analyzing the conversation.[4]

On the same day, Sean Lazarus, the head of Shine Con, released his statement, stating that FOW had almost been assaulted over the false accusations and that he and FOW tried to reason with Jennifer on releasing the statements. He noted that, initially, her charges had nothing to do with sexual harassment or assault, and that she also agreed to drop the charges, however, she later changed her mind. Lazarus also noted that Jennifer was 18 at the time of her encounter with FOW, while her posts have implied that she was underaged. Lazarus has provided screenshots of a conversation between him and Jennifer which further backs up his statement. [5]

Jennifer has since deleted her Twitlonger, Twitter account, and all messages she had with Hita.

On January 25th, 2019, FOW announced on Twitter that he had filed a Small Claims Complaint against Jennifer for defamation that was worth $10,000.[6][7]

The allegations were brought to light once again on June 1st, 2020, amidst a wave of sexual harassment allegations in the community. Jennifer, now going by the Twitter name Luxeeys, made a 2nd TwitLonger restating her sexual assault case, now providing screenshots of police reports, the aforementioned defamation by FOW in addition to a restraining order attempt by him (both of which ended up being fruitless) and pointing out that the claims made by Hita didn't have any evidence to back them up.[8] She also claimed that FOW suspiciously never went through with his Small Claims Complaint and that he violently threatened her family if she were to speak about the events.

On the same day, FOW tweeted out his response where he provided a thread from another user - allegedly a previous mutual of Jennifer - with screenshots that defended him from Jennifer's claims. He also provided his own screenshots that provided more context to some of Jennifer's claims[9]. Furthermore, the claim that FOW posted her name on SmashWiki is inaccurate[10].
