The Skill parameter has been removed from Smasher infoboxes, and in its place are the new "Best historical ranking" and "Best tournament result" parameters. SmashWiki needs help adding these new parameters to Smasher infoboxes, refer to the guidelines here for what should be included in these new parameters. |
When adding results to Smasher pages, include each tournament's entrant number in addition to the player's placement, and use the {{Trn}} template with the matching game specified. Please also fix old results on Smasher pages that do not abide to this standard. Refer to our Smasher article guidelines to see how results tables should be formatted. |

Meta Knight is a playable veteran character in Super Smash Bros. 4, revealed on August 13th, 2014, being teased before hand on the 11th. Visually, Meta Knight now has gauntlets over his gloves and small battle damage details on his armor to make him less cartoonish, the opposite situation to most character visual changes. Additionally, the top corners of his mask opening are more pointed, with the sides curving inward instead of being straight.
Changes from Brawl
Neutral attack has a finisher.
Dimensional Cape is much stronger.
Forward smash is stronger.
Up smash is stronger.
Dash attack has more knockback.
Meta Knight is larger, making his attacks have more reach and possibly more weight.
His hurtbox is larger.
Drill Rush connects better and is much stronger.
Drill Rush has more startup lag.
Back throw is stronger and deals 1% more damage.
Mach Tornado has slightly less damage potential.
However, it is almost impossible to SDI out of.
Forward air deals less damage.
Down smash is weakened.
Down throw does less damage.
Forward tilt combo is less damaging.
Meta Knight can no longer glide out of Shuttle Loop.
To compensate, Meta Knight now slashes the opponent twice whilst spinning in a large loop, which deals more damage than in Brawl.
However it has less KO potential.
- The following moves are visually unchanged:
- Forward tilt (third hit)
- Forward smash
- Dimensional Cape

Trivia
- Meta Knight was the last veteran fighter revealed before the launch of Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS in Japan. This is ironic, considering he was the first announced newcomer for Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
