- Its slow falling speed makes it ideal in Multi-Man Brawl. Mousehunter321 (talk · contributions) 20:27, 2 April 2012 (EDT)
- I'm not really a fan of one hit KOs. That's just batty. --Havoc48 >:D!!! 19:47, 3 April 2012 (EDT)
- I like the bat and all, but i hate the 3 second charge up.98.116.4.145 08:48, 6 April 2012 (EDT)

Votes for Home-Run Bat
- On one side, we have a weapon that does minimal damage! On another, we have a 1HKO!!! AccoolX 09:33, 31 March 2012 (EDT)
- I find throwing the Home-Run Bat at unsuspecting enemies to be more effective than slapping them around with the fan for a bit. 110.174.90.69 12:16, 31 March 2012 (EDT)
- I never use the Fan. Ever. Mostly because of how weak it is, but also because there are no Fan-related bonuses in Melee. The Home-run Bat, on the other hand; it causes one-hit KOs, and there is a Melee bonus that you get each time you KO with the bat (you can get it many times quickly with the one-hit KOs). Plus, the bat's lag never seems to bother me. RickTommy (talk) 12:32, 31 March 2012(EDT)
- Fan, Half-Decent combo shot. Home-Run Bat, Masive damage, Knockback, and KO potential. No contest at all. --71.48.179.136 12:37, 31 March 2012 (EDT)
- The Home-Run Bat is significantly stronger, and it's my 2nd favorite item in the Smash Bros. series. (my favorite item is the Hammer) Smash Master 12:43, 31 March 2012 (EDT)
- Really don't like the Fan, Home-Run Bat is OK. If I have items turned on, I don't play with either, but I guess Home-Run Bat is slightly better. Doesn't warrant a pun though. Toast ltimatum 13:27, 31 March 2012 (EDT)
- Like Toast says on his comment for Ness on his userpage, "Peanut butter jelly with a baseball bat." Also, my baseball game was rained out today, which also inspired me to vote for this. KREEEEENG! Kind regards, MeleeMarth01. 13:29, 31 March 2012 (EDT)
- There's a reason the fan isn't used in Home Run Contest. Mr. Anontalk 13:31, 31 March 2012 (EDT)
- The bat reminds me of EarthBound of when Ness does a smash attack. ..... The Spectre 13:59, 31 March 2012 (EDT)
- Home-Run Bat + High Items= Chaos! Yoshirocks341 15:45, 31 March 2012 (EDT)
- When I hit my opponent with a weapon, I don't want him/her to get knocked closer to me. Instead, I want him/her to go away. Far away. 123JamesHeart 16:27, 31 March 2012 (EDT)
- Better for throwing. 1HKO only works in four player matches. Seen players online do it. Never works. LightningBlue: Music is Power 17:35, 31 March 2012 (EDT)
- Duh. better than fan by miles. The Solar Dragon (Talk - Contribs.) 18:05, 31 March 2012 (EDT)
- I like to play baseball in real life, so the bat gets my vote. --Fan275 18:11, 31 March 2012 (EDT)
- Why not? DoctorPain99 {ROLLBACKER} 21:00, 31 March 2012 (EDT)
- It can make a Blast Box explode in one hit! Cool! ShupaRoeh (talk) 23:53, 31 March 2012 (EDT)
- PING! Nuff said.King KirbyD (talk) 01:55, 1 April 2012 (EDT)
- Often overlooked is the Bat's incredible prowess as a throwing weapon. It flies fast, KOs well under 100%, and it's the strongest throwing item in Brawl that is reusable without needing to be recaught. This is what makes it such a deadly and effective item, not its OHKO potential with its smash attack. Omega Tyrant 02:10, 1 April 2012 (EDT)
- PING! I need not explain further. Blue Ninjakoopa(Talk) 02:18, 1 April 2012 (EDT)
- Obviously, fan is not good enough, and bat is much more powerful than fan. Stranger1260 (talk) 05:50, 1 April 2012 (EDT)
- See Omega Tyrant's vote. I love to throw these at people. Meta Ike 10:02, 1 April 2012 (EDT)
- I agree with Omega Tyrant's vote. It flies fast and it KOs well. --Otaku-Kirby (talk) 17:12, 2 April 2012 (EDT)
- Because it rocks and can go REEEEEAAAALLLLLLYYYYY far and is a OHKO but uses up time... Still good though 207.236.90.177 14:58, 3 April 2012 (EDT)
- Yeah, I usually always ignore fans if they appear. Bats, however, have strength and powah. 140.182.209.195 09:02, 4 April 2012 (EDT)
- "KREEEEENG!" Most Wonderful Sound, indeed. Although I've gradually taken a liking to the Fan's Lethal Joke Weapon properties, scoring a one-hit knockout (OHKO) with the Home-Run Bat is one of the most satisfying videogame experiences ever. A bit easier to do in multiplayer due to the sheer chaoticness arising during a match; pulling it off in single-player is amazing. A shame that it's very predictable, but the predictability of it makes actually pulling off a "home run" feel even greater! And finally, Ness packs a pseudo-Home Run Bat as a smash attack, to boot! 72.3.33.10 15:59, 4 April 2012 (EDT)
- SMAAAAAAAASSHHHHHH!!!!!!!! Idk. I just have always prefered the Home-Run Bat. GormanLuigi 11:33, 6 April 2012 (EDT)
- Though its possible to spam either I guess, I dislike the spamming of the fan more than that of the bat. The bat gets it over with more quickly. ;P 71.48.126.71 12:46, 6 April 2012 (EDT)

- Oh, wow. Though the difficulty of escaping the fan, I believe it's much better to send them skyrocketing off the stage with a three-second charge-up. I agree, with the guy above me, too..... "KREEEEEEEEENG" (More like "K'DEEEEEENG") is the most satisfying sound in the game. MILK! (talk) 16:11, 4 April 2012 (EDT)
