Marth File:MarthTrophy3DS1.png NA: The first hero from the Fire Emblem series, Marth is the prince of Altea and descendant of the hero Anri. In Smash Bros., he's known as an exceptional swordfighter, swinging his blade with grace. Striking with the tip will maximize the damage dealt. Teach aggressive foes a lesson with his strong Counter move.

PAL: Marth, the prince of Altea, is the hero of the first ever Fire Emblem game and its remake, Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon. In this game, his graceful sword skills are what set him apart. Strike with the tip of his blade to deal extra damage, and use his Counter skill to defend yourself, no matter which directions you're being attacked from.

Ike IkeTrophy3DS.png NA: One of the main characters from the Fire Emblem series. Having fought in the Mad King's War, restored the fallen nation of Crimea, and taken on the Begnion Empire, Ike is rightly called a hero. He has the strength to back the title—one good swing of his blade can launch the heaviest of foes.

PAL: One of the main characters from the Fire Emblem series. Having fought in the Mad King's War, played a huge part in restoring the fallen nation of Crimea, and taken on the Begnion Emprire, Ike is rightly called a hero. And he has the strength to go with that title. One good swing of his blade can launch even the heaviest of fighters.

Robin RobinTrophy3DS.png NA: This is the male Robin, your avatar in Fire Emblem Awakening. The goal of this adventure doesn't change much because of your gender choice, but Robin's marriage options do. In Smash Bros., Robin brings powerful magic and swordplay to bear. He can exhaust his moves, but they'll be restored over time.

PAL: When Robin is found at the start of Fire Emblem: Awakening, he (or she!) discovers that, even without his memories, he is a master tactician. In this game, his attacks are powerful, but in true Fire Emblem style, how many times his magic can be used is limited. This also applies to the thunder magic his sword is imbued with.

Lucina LucinaTrophy3DS.png NA: Chrom's daughter and the future Princess of Ylisse. When she arrives from a doomed future seeking to prevent it from ever happening, she goes by the name Marth before her identity is revealed. She fights much like her adopted namesake, but more than just the tip of her sword is powerful.

PAL: Daughter of Chrom and future Princess of Ylisse. When she comes from the future to prevent a terrible future from unfolding, she goes by the name of Marth, but only until her true identity comes to light. She is a very similar fighter to Marth, except it doesn't actually matter which part of her sword she strikes with.

Lyn LyndisTrophy3DS.png NA: Her real name is Lyndis, and she's the last survivor of one of the Sacaen tribes. She's strong and friendly, and her swordsmanship is epic. If you summon her in this game, she'll charge herself up before laying a critical hit on her nearest opponent. Expect a solid strike from her to leave a mark!

Chrom ChromTrophy3DS.png NA: Prince of the Halidom of Ylisse and descendant of the Hero-King Marth. He leads a militia force called the Shepherds that protects Ylisse. Though he can get reckless when training—things end up broken—he can be counted on in the heat of battle. He and Robin combine their skills in Robin's Final Smash.

PAL: The prince of the Halidom of Ylisse and a descendant of the Hero-King Marth. Chrom and his militia, the Shepherds, swear to protect the people of Ylisse. Despite being more than competent in battle, he's rather careless in training and always seems to be breaking things. He and Robin combine their skills in Robin's Final Smash.

Marth (Alt.) File:MarthTrophy3DS2.png NA: Marth's side special Dancing Blade is a four-stage attack. Aim and time your strikes carefully! The tip of his sword does the most damage. For his up smash, Justice Sword, he thrusts his blade into the air. You can use it to block attacks from above and launch nearby foes.

PAL: Marth's side special, Dancing Blade, is a four-stage attack. Aim and time your strikes carefully! As usual, the tip of his sword does the most damage. For his up smash, Justice Sword, he thrusts his blade into the air. You can use it to block attacks from above, and even to launch nearby enemies off the ground.

Ike (Alt.) File:IkeAllStarTrophy3DS.png NA: Ike's side smash is a powerful two-handed sword strike. It's one of the best launch attacks in the entire game, though it will leave you wide open when you use it. For Eruption, one of his specials, you stab the ground and unleash a pillar of fire. Charging for too long will hurt Ike, so be careful!

PAL: Ike's side smash is a powerful two-handed sword strike. It's one of the best launch attacks in the entire game, so even though it leaves you open, it's a real winner. For Eruption, one of his specials, you stab the ground and unleash a pillar of fire that hits anyone nearby. If you charge it too long, though, you'll hurt yourself, so be careful!

Robin (Alt.) File:RobinAllStarTrophy3DS.png NA: Robin's magic is powerful, but it has limited uses before needing to recharge. Thunder can be charged in stages, will become Thoron at max charge, and gains damage and speed with its charge. Arcfire creates a flame pillar, perfect for dealing with an edge-clinging foe.

PAL: Robin's magic is powerful, but in return, its uses are limited. You can charge Thunder in steps, and when it's fully charged, it turns into Thoron, increasing its speed and dealing more damage. Arcfire creates a flame pillar when it hits something. Use it on an opponent who's clinging to an edge to stop them getting back on the stage.

Lucina (Alt.) File:LucinaAllStarTrophy3DS.png NA: Lucina's moves are much like Marth's, but there are subtle differences. With Marth, you need to try to hit with the tip of his sword, but Lucina's sword is equally powerful all along the blade. Her Shield Breaker move lets her attack opponents and break their shields at the same time. Charge it fully to shatter shields in one hit.

Lissa LissaTrophy3DS.png NA/PAL: The energetic, playful princess of Ylisse. Lissa wanted to become a member of her older brother Chrom's Shepherds, so she trained as hard as she could to be good enough for them. She may seem naive sometimes, and her attempts at sewing and cooking are a bit dubious, but her love for the people of Ylisse shines through.
Anna AnnaTrophy3DS.png NA: Anna is a bright, cheerful young merchant, but her true nature is clouded in mystery. She's very fixated on money and is a girl of many talents, but it wasn't until Fire Emblem Awakening that she became a playable character. There's still a lot we don't know about her—she likes to keep everybody guessing.

Inigo InigoTrophy3DS.png NA: A mercenary who traveled back in time to save the past. He may be shy, but he still wants to be a dancer like his mother, Olivia. He won't admit it, though—not even to her! Most people see him as a helpless flirt, but the truth is he talks to women to work through his crippling shyness.

Cordelia CordeliaTrophy3DS.png NA: A member of the Ylissean Pegasus Knights. Friends since childhood, Cordelia and Sumia have aged quite differently over time, Sumia's scatterbrained nature contrasting with Cordelia's capable efficiency. She may seem self-assured and ready for anything, but she's tormented by her unrequited feelings for a certain someone...

PAL: A member of the Ylissean Pegasus Knights. A friend of Sumia since childhood, the two knights are nonetheless very different, Sumia's scatterbrained nature contrasting with Cordelia's capable efficiency. She may seem self-assured and ready for anything, but she's tormented by her unrequited feelings for a certain someone...

Gaius GaiusTrophy3DS.png NA/PAL: Here's a man who really would take candy from a baby. This Ylissean thief is the cool, collected sort, willing to do any kind of job if the price is right. That said, he's got quite a sweet tooth, and keeping up a cool image is really hard if you're always eating lollipops and hoarding sweets. His silly nicknames for people don't help much either...
Lon'qu LonquTrophy3DS.png NA: Lon'qu is a skilled swordsman hailing from the northern nation of Regna Ferox. Trauma from his past instilled a fear of being near women, so he has a very brusque attitude when he has to work with them. He is committed to his art and hones his fighting skills constantly. As a peculiar side effect, he's become very good at potato peeling.

Owain OwainTrophy3DS.png NA: When Owain first runs into Lissa, he introduces himself as her son from the future and proves his royal heritage with the Brand of the Exalt on his arm. He brings theatrics to battle, referring to his weapons with names he's given them and shouting the names of his special moves as he performs them.

PAL: When Owain first runs into Lissa, he introduces himself as her son from the future and proves his royal heritage with the Brand of the Exalt on his arm. He has a tendency to get carried away, shouting out "special move" names and referring to himself as the "Chosen One".

Tiki TikiTrophy3DS.png NA/PAL: Tiki resides in Valm as the Voice of the Divine Dragon. You might be surprised to learn that she is 3,000 years old. As befitting one from the Divine Dragon tribe, she has a very calm demeanor...but every so often, she'll show her youthful spirit.
Validar ValidarTrophy3DS.png NA: Validar is the leader of the Grimleal, the religious sect dedicated to the Fell Dragon, Grima. Their goal is to resurrect their fallen master, and Validar himself practices dark magic. In one possible timeline, he uses his own child as a vessel in a spell to resurrect Grima. Fire Emblem Awakening follows a different timeline.

Critical Hit (Marth) Marth raises his Exalted Falchion to the sky and then rushes forward to deal an incredibly powerful blow, almost certainly KO'ing anyone and everyone who gets hit! When it's used in the air, he'll fly forward a certain distance. On the ground, however, he'll only dash to the edge of the platform he's standing on.
Great Aether Ike's Aether up special is combined with a relentless barrage of sword blows in this powerful Final Smash. He knocks targets into the air with an upward swing, and then they're stuck there as he strikes over and over. Finally, he slams them down to the ground and launches them. Just make sure that first strike hits!
Critical Hit (Lucina) In Lucina's Final Smash, she raises her sword high before dashing swiftly forward to deliver a deadly blow to whomever she makes contact with first. Even if their damage is low, this strike is powerful enough to take out foes in a single hit. Just make sure you don't dash off the stage when you use it in midair!
Pair Up Like the Pair Up feature in Fire Emblem: Awakening that lets two characters attack a foe at once, Robin's Final Smash calls Chrom, the Prince of Ylisse, to the battlefield. First, Chrom dashes forward and if he lands a hit, Robin joins him for a flawless combination of attacks. It can even catch multiple opponents at once!
Elincia NTSC:Elincia ascended to the Crimean throne after her parents were murdered by the Daein Army. Her efforts to restore the kingdom and aid her people led some of the nobility to plot against her, but the support she was given helped her usher in a new age of peace and prosperity.
PAL: A princess with a charming frankness to balance her courtly upbringing. Victorious over the forces of Daein that killed her parents, she takes her rightful place on the Crimean throne. As Queen, her sympathy for commoners over those of high status triggers a rebellion among some of the nobility, but also helps rebuild Crimea.
Sothe PAL: Sothe is a member of the Dawn Brigade freedom fighters. With his well-honed dagger skills, he fights to free the people of Daein from the Begnion Empire. Though they aren't related by blood, he sees fellow Brigade member Micaiah as a sister, and is determined to protect her at all costs.

Trivia

Tharja's scrapped trophy.
  • A trophy of Tharja from Fire Emblem: Awakening was planned for inclusion in the game, and can be seen in the ESRB leak. However, the trophy was not unlocked when Japanese copies of the game were displayed on Twitch, and when the trophy files were accessed via hacking, there was no data relating to her trophy, implying that it was removed from the game some time after it was recorded for the ESRB review footage. It can be speculated that her design may have been considered too suggestive for the game to keep its E10+ ("Everyone ten and up") rating, and was removed in order to maintain such a rating; by comparison, Fire Emblem: Awakening received a T ("Teen") rating from the ESRB.
