Falco (ファルコ, Faruko) returns as a playable character in Super Smash Bros. 4, as confirmed by a leaker's Twitch stream. His moveset appears to be largely unchanged from its Brawl incarnation.

His appearance also hasn't changed much from Brawl, albeit a lighter shade of blue for the feathers and a smaller eye reticle.

Changes from Brawl

  •   Forward air and neutral air connect better.
    •   Forward air has less ending lag.
  •   Neutral attack has a finisher.
  •   Back air has a new animation and is faster.
  •   Falco Phantasm has slightly less startup lag and no longer leaves Falco helpless when used in midair.
  •   Up smash is stronger.
  •   Fire Bird gains more recovery distance.
  •   Down air is slower.
    •   However, it is stronger.
  •   Forward smash has more startup lag.
  •   Lasers have landing lag and cannot be fired as frequently
  •   Landmaster is less powerful.

The following moves appear unchanged:

  • Forward tilt
  • Up tilt
  • Down tilt
  • Down smash
