User talk:Megatron1/Archive 2
I will brawl anyone that challenges me, regardless of their skill level unless I merely don't feel like it. Do not keep on repeatedly ask me to brawl you, because a no means no. If you want to Brawl me, contact me here or on the IRC. I will not accept FFA matches, as they generally fuck up the metagame I am trying to improve. As of now, I will not accept most brawls because I am currently playing No More Heroes 2, which is an addiction and seems to be ruining my metagame. I may also not accept brawls because of my shifting metagames. When I'm at the top of my metagame, I will brawl. If I'm plain crappy, then I won't. You can also ask me for a shoddy battle in the Smogon University server or for my Wii code to exchange vault data.

Hi, it's me, Anon. I was wondering whether you could do me a favor. See, I have trouble downloading pages, so I won't be much help during the move. As a result, would you mind importing my user page? Mr. Anon 00:37, 29 September 2010 (EDT)
- I don't think he's currently online. Special:RecentChanges lists the users that are currently online; ask one of them (not me I'm going to bed). Dr. Pain 99 00:47, 29 September 2010 (EDT)
- When I'm online, I'm online DP. Your userpage has been imported Anon.--MegaTron1XD 00:48, 29 September 2010 (EDT)
- @Anon: nm @Mega: Whatever the hell that means. Dr. Pain 99 00:49, 29 September 2010 (EDT)
- Thanks! As a side note, what are we going to do about talk pages? Are we just going to import them too? Or have them as archives? Mr. Anon 00:51, 29 September 2010 (EDT)
- When I'm online, I'm online DP. Your userpage has been imported Anon.--MegaTron1XD 00:48, 29 September 2010 (EDT)
Whoa hang on
Can you not upload the matchup images yet? I was in the process of seeing if I could tweak/improve them. I'll have decided by the end of today sometime. Toomai Glittershine 10:58, 2 October 2010 (EDT)
- Fine then.--MegaTron1XD 11:00, 2 October 2010 (EDT)
- Alright, I tried a few different things, but nothing was really a definite improvement. You can upload them now if you want. (If so, give me credit, please.) Toomai Glittershine 12:21, 3 October 2010 (EDT)
Custom sigs?
It's me again! 8D I've heard about custom sigs, like images next to user names. *points at SonicRulz13's sig* Can you help me put something like a Fox icon next to my user name? Sorry I'm asking so many questions. Ironically, I know a lot about video games, but when I come here, I instantly feel stupid. Maybe it's because I'm around so many smart people.
Ultrasonicfan (talk) 07:55, 5 October 2010 (EDT)
- We don't have the Fox head symbol uploaded on this Wiki yet, so you'll have to wait a little bit. But when it is uploaded (along with all those images that need to be uploaded), I can create a custom signature with it for you. Though if you want something other than a basic signature with a Fox icon, you'll have to let me know. Omega Tyrant 08:10, 5 October 2010 (EDT)
OK, I can wait.
Ultrasonicfan (talk) 16:53, 5 October 2010 (EDT)
That one's fine
unlike the ones I reverted of Anon's. Miles (talk) 19:09, 8 October 2010 (EDT)
What's up with...
...your edit summaries recently? Yeah, they're mostly funny, but they're not very informative, and they look somewhat distracting (to me, anyway). Toomai Glittershine 23:44, 18 October 2010 (EDT)
- I'm bored and edit summaries were never defined to informative knowledge, though if there is a rule to it, I'll follow it.--MegaTron1XD 23:46, 18 October 2010 (EDT)
With all due respect...
I think that worrying about the capitalization of article titles right now is the wrong thing to be focusing on, as many of them are highly debatable anyway (e.g. Meteor Smash). I appreciate your hard work, but could we maybe deal with things like this, this and the enforcement of this first? Miles (talk) 18:28, 22 October 2010 (EDT)

Undoing edits
"How about you listen to Toomai" is not a valid undo reason if there hasn't yet been any discussion on the issue. Toomai Glittershine 13:10, 30 October 2010 (EDT)
IRC Ban
Why the hell did you banned me from IRC, I didn't do anything, I was just pointing something out and you were refusing to listen to me. You really need to stop flaming me for everyting I do and get a life. Doc King (talk) 20:19, 30 October 2010 (EDT)
- You are yelling at someone who apparently has no life :/ You were pointing things out, which I do. I listen. You call me dumbass. Done.--MegaTron1XD 21:22, 30 October 2010 (EDT)
- Also, why are you bringing up a ban that's not Wiki related? The only exclusive daily comer is RBX, and you only seem to make random small talk that doesn't end in a deep discussion.--MegaTron1XD 21:29, 30 October 2010 (EDT)
Be nice to the Newcommers
I agree with you in that the guy was being a bit n00bish, but you have to be patient with newcommers like them. I know it's not a policy here, but back home at Wikipedia, there's a saying, "Don't bite the newcommers". If you feel they're not acting right, try to help them do so. Mr. Anon (talk) 00:47, 5 November 2010 (EDT)
- The problem is, I'm not going to bother with newcomers. I want to avoid conflicts of any kind at this point in time and avoiding them will do me good. Look at Doc. I tried to help him and trolled on the way. I don't want anyone to be like Doc.--MegaTron1XD 00:56, 5 November 2010 (EDT)
- No, but what I mean is that when a new guy starts a forum that you think is pointless, it's better to politely tell them what they are doing wrong and simply point them in the right direction, rather than telling them off in your... tone. Everyone who's been here for a while knows that your joking when you call people n00bs, but again, the newbies may interpret you differently. Mr. Anon (talk) 01:51, 6 November 2010 (EDT)
This...
I told Doc not to start shit with you on the Smash Wiki, and I expect you to not start any either. You can fix spelling mistakes on another userpage, but that edit summary was not appropriate. Omega Tyrant 00:58, 5 November 2010 (EDT)
- So, to limit my chances of recieving warnings and wars, I'm going to avoid edit summaries that involve irony against another user, contact with new users, and avoiding arguments of any kind. If I break my own promise, I shall put myself on a short hiatus.--MegaTron1XD 00:59, 5 November 2010 (EDT)
- While the edit summary could be called ironic, it could be interpreted as you calling Doc King a dumbass, who would surely take offense, and then lead to an escalation that would end up with both of you banned. I know that you two do not get along at all, but try your best to keep it off Wiki. Omega Tyrant 01:06, 5 November 2010 (EDT)
how to make a smash game better, continued
since miles made it so that nothing could be posted on the forum i made ill just have to respond to you here, first things first,if anyones a noob its you megatron, youre an idiot, the worst kind of idiot, the kind of idiot who has the nerve to feel superior to others,i guess ill respond to everything you said,or what i could understand from your halfwited writing anyway
- I know how to DACUS and personally i find it useless for the most part, you barely see top professionals ever actually use a DACUS,DACUSes are extremely situational and difficult to land properly making them overall ineffective.Ikes forward smash is the worst move to use to punish recoveries in ike's arsenal, its extremely difficult to land and leaves him very open, why forward smash when you can use down tilt to attempt to meteor smash an oponent, use eruption to get invincibility frames and be able to damage all around you,or use up smash to get a far wider range of attack, clearly any non noob would know this
- thats a stupid argument and isnt any real good reason to keep it in the game
- what the hell is that even supposed to mean, learn to express things better
- thanks for stating that captain obvious, that response doesnt even make sense,oh and dash attacks are only a good aproach if the character has a quick dash attack with little ending lag, which in case youre unaware of,a lot of chracters dont have,a stupid noob thing to say
- i can deal with chain grabs, but not when they can completely wipe you out,its not about being able to deal with a chain grab, its about getting rid of the possibility for broken ones,i like my games to be balanced and fair,i guess you dont
- your response is what doesnt make sense, what the hell is that supposed to mean, again, learn to express things better
- again something that makes no sense, and what the hell does "that'd be messed" even mean
- it wont make slow moves uber, itll make them actually practical and not completely situational
- so ikes bair isnt uber in your opinion?id rather just have his fair be faster and have no landing lag, itll serve the same purpose
- again, what the hell does that even mean
- no duh
- why limit possibilitys
- only noobs complain about spamming, skilled players counter predictable patterns
- you mean learn the small two or three hit combos possible that can only be done at low percents, already did,i want more and better ones
- what?
- there are stronger moves with less starting and ending lag than the ones i mentioned, youre an idiot unfamiliar with all the characters moves
- its not a problem, but the topic is making a better smash game,i think that would make characters better and what does "Get something that doesn't have to cause damage to avoid saving your opponent" even mean, and what does it have to do with the topic
- masters of gliding?what the hell are those, never heard of or seen one of those, its about balancing recoveries
- must you always be such an idiot, its about being able to use upspecials offensively without becoming defenseless afterwards,it improves battle mechanics,it has no effect on recovery whatsoever
- zelda is not crap, youre probably a tier whore who takes tiers as absolute fact, tiers are based on tournament results, meaning they are completely unreliable, top tiers will always be the characters that get used the most or the ones the top pros win with, meaning top tiers will always be either really popular characters or any character the most skilled players play with, and once a tier list is made most people will only play the top tiers and those will be the only ones placing at the top in tournaments creating a cycle in wich top tiers never change because they are the characters that get used the most therefore place the most, tiers shouldnt exist, but if they had to exist they should be made by players who are skilled with every character in the roster since they would have an understanding of the characters strengths and weaknesses instead of being based on something stupid like tournament placings
- i dont hate sonic,i love sonic, but that doesnt mean he belongs in smash brothers, hell i love sora from kingdom hearts and dante from devil may cry, that doesnt mean i think they should be in smash brothers, smash brothers is about nintendo characters, keep it that way,an updated roy and mewtwo would have been better than snake and sonic, and frankly, more deserving
- theres a difference between improvement and pointless additions
- no but everyone can air dodge, spot dodge, and just plain block now cant they,or are you unaware characters can do those things, your oponent being able to grab an item thrown at them midair and throwing it back defeats the purpose of having items to throw, last time i checked you cant grab falcos lasers and throw them back so why shouldnt links bombs or peach's turnips get the same courtesy
- only noobs would miss the final smashes, and how fitting youd use what is considered the cheapest final smash as an example
- why should i,why should anyone,no one likes them, why keep them
- youre a minority in that opinion
- good
- good
- maybe you should have read the next thing before responding, notice how i specificaly set the list up to have a pattern so that everything that came after had some connection with the previous topic or was a brand new one,or did you just not notice that everything was set up in an order, all ground attack related things were put together, all air attack topics were put together, item topics ect,you dont pay very much attention do you
- good
- who needs all star when you can just go to versus or classic mode
and dont critisize other peoples spelling when you cant properly spell yourself, its spelled "explanation" not "explainations" and you forgot to put an "a" before better, learn to express yourself properly in writing and dont go around calling people noobs, specially when you know nothing about how skilled or not they are,and avoid using the words noob and scrub in general, theyre stupid slang made by retarded players with a superiority complex and bad sportsmanship, and next time use a polite tone and keep your responses short,a simple,i dont like your ideas, would have suficed,no need to elaborate, specially considering your lack of ability in expressing your views and quite frankly, you sound like a noobGig (talk) 02:03, 6 November 2010 (EDT)
- I sound like a n00b, huh. I use irony. You stop being a n00b. Simple as that. Look at this. Miles already told us to stop, I friggin said I don't want to bother with this, and you still don't space or capitalize things correctly. Can I argue about this? Yah. Will nothing be gained? Yah. So stop claiming I'm a n00b when you have so many reasons to be called one as well and stop bringing this up. I'm an idiot granted. However, calling me an idiot when you're not doing things correctly isn't even justified.--MegaTron1XD 01:45, 6 November 2010 (EDT)
- Edit Conflict:Please don't bring up forum discussions to people's talk pages. Keep that stuff on the propper forum, and since Mile's locked it, you probably shouldn't be doing this at all. And Sign your comments. Also, I have talked to Mega about not calling people n00bs. Mr. Anon (talk) 01:47, 6 November 2010 (EDT)
"Newbie" vs. "n00b"
Use the correct one. For >75% of the internet "newbie" and "n00b" are not interchangable. Using "newbie" is usually seen as a polite/neutral way of expressing one's new-ness. Using "n00b" is almost always seen as an insult and often leads to unwanted arguments. Toomai Glittershine 13:41, 6 November 2010 (EDT)

Coupla style things
- Game universe as well as individual games are italicized (e.g. Metroid Prime is a game in the Metroid universe).
- Generally, link that would redirect is better than link that would redirect (e.g. one would use SSBB instead of SSBB).
- I'm also strongly considering making it policy to use Super Smash Bros., Melee and Brawl as shortened versions in place of SSB, SSBM and SSBB wherever reasonable. Miles (talk) 17:50, 11 November 2010 (EST)
- I disagree with 2. Using redirect instead of is half the point of having redirects; it also makes things harder to mess up. Toomai Glittershine 17:54, 11 November 2010 (EST)
- What about 1 and 3? Miles (talk) 17:59, 11 November 2010 (EST)
- 1 is fine, even though I never do it because I think it's a quibble that no one really cares about. 3 will provide inconsistency with article titles like Mario (SSB), and I remember a conversation a while ago with BNK that ended with agreeing that "Mario (Super Smash Bros.)" is not acceptable as a title. Smash Arena note
You are supposed to give users an hour before moving a bad vote to the half-votes section (and giving it the unsigned template). Removing the crap image links is fine. Toomai Glittershine 23:06, 19 November 2010 (EST)
- So I assume you decide whether or not an hour has to be exactly 60 minutes :/. An hour gives quite a while to fix a mistake imo. You however happen to be the moderator of the Smash Arena, not me.--MegaTron1XD 23:09, 19 November 2010 (EST)
- I'm not saying "exactly 60 minutes", I'm saying "something close to 60 minutes, preferably after". Your edit gave the user in question only two minutes, so I assumed you missed that clause of the rule. Toomai Glittershine 23:15, 19 November 2010 (EST)
"why did you do that? This is fine"

- Ah. I'd strongly agree with Miles... - Reboot (talk) 22:44, 27 November 2010 (EST)
- Well, if you'd like, you can suggest a policy on this. I have other sites that are having current events occuring.--MegaTron1XD 22:44, 27 November 2010 (EST)
- While we agreed that you're allowed to leave links like that, you most certainly should not make an edit in order to change them to the redirecting form. Ever ever. Miles (talk) 23:14, 27 November 2010 (EST)
- Well, if you'd like, you can suggest a policy on this. I have other sites that are having current events occuring.--MegaTron1XD 22:44, 27 November 2010 (EST)
- Ah. I'd strongly agree with Miles... - Reboot (talk) 22:44, 27 November 2010 (EST)
(Reset indent) Plus, if server disk space was *that* tight, changing to a redirect would increase that page's on-disk size whether the redirect title was longer or shorter (since the server has to store the diff info whether the resulting page is longer, shorter, or exactly the same size). - Reboot (talk) 00:30, 28 November 2010 (EST)
Question about Pages
If we don't know how, are we allowed to click edit on someone's user page to see how to do something? For example, on your page, there is a list of games that you own and have completed. Am I allowed to use that edit page to figure out how to do that same thing on my page? Welikeikeandfoxes (talk) 16:01, 28 November 2010 (EST)
- There is nothing against even editing another user's page. Of course you can do that.--MegaTron1XD 16:12, 28 November 2010 (EST)
Stop
This thing between you and Doc has to stop. [this] is simply taking this too far. Every time he makes a mistake, you don't have to be all upon him. This isn't doing anything to make him a better user, and it's simply making his attitude towards you to be negative. All he's trying to do is make a friendly smashwiki tournament (I won't be able to join, btw), and there's no need to attack him at every chance you have. Mr. Anon (talk) 23:18, 1 December 2010 (EST)
- He attacks me. Rightful punishment in my view. However, if you had been on AiB, you would be informed that I'm going to ignore Doc for real this time. This isn't limited to that tournament. My whole attitude was because of Doc himself. He's done too much shit for me to ignore but this time, I've had it. Arguing with him is useless, because on AiB, he insulted my skills at Melee when I only reached 5 kills with Falco in cruel when he reached 6. I suck at Melee. That bit of ignorance and, well, stupidity tbh, has just shown me that he shouldn't be bothered with. If he starts shit with me, you can deal with it, because I won't.--MegaTron1XD 23:22, 1 December 2010 (EST)
Irrelevant edit summaries
Knock them off. They started out funny, but ones like this are not acceptable. Toomai Glittershine 14:36, 5 December 2010 (EST)
^Agree with what Toomai says. A joke summary for a minor edit may be acceptable, but saying how you dislike so and so or blatantly insulting them is just not. I was against negative comments about other users on userpages, and I'm certainly not going to tolerate them in edit summaries. Keep this stuff to yourself, the whole Wiki doesn't need to know how you don't like so and so constantly, and saying such things in your edit summaries is just going to start unnecessary crap with them that is detrimental to the Wiki. Omega Tyrant 20:28, 5 December 2010 (EST)

Welcome templetes
I think it would be better if you used them after the user has made their first edit. That way, if the user is a vandal it won't seem as awkward. Furthermore, the template itself says something like "thank you for your contributions". Mr. Anon (talk) 22:59, 8 December 2010 (EST)
- I actually think we should get a bot for this job. Mr. Anon (talk) 22:59, 8 December 2010 (EST)
- Which would welcome vandals :|--MegaTron1XD 23:01, 8 December 2010 (EST)
- I heavily object to getting a bot to do that. The Donkey Kong Wikia had one, and needless to say, it got annoying. It's much worse welcoming and thanking a vandal for their vandal edit than welcoming them before they made their vandal edits. A welcome from an actual user would also have more meaning than an empty, automated welcome message from a bot would (which, when it comes to any automated messages, come off as annoying and not sincere). Omega Tyrant 23:55, 8 December 2010 (EST)
