Article on Lylat Wiki Peppy Hare

Peppy Hare (ペッピー・ヘア, Peppy Hare) is a character from the Star Fox series.

Origin

Peppy was a founding member of the original Star Fox team alongside James McCloud, Fox's father, and Pigma Dengar. While fox was a teenager, the team was contracted by General Pepper to investigate planet Venom and potentially take down Andross. When they reached the planet, Pigma revealed himself to be a traitor and James was supposedly killed by Andross. Peppy narrowly escaped to tell the galaxy about Andross and Fox about the fate of his father. Years later, Peppy would join Fox, Falco and Slippy as a member of the new Star Fox team.

Peppy always acted in a supporting role to the team, giving advice and strategies to the other pilots. He is able to hold his own in a fight, such as the time he reunited and fought Pigma, who had resurfaced as a member of team Star Wolf. After Krystal officially became a member, Peppy decided to retire as a fighter pilot, but stayed with the team as a strategist and captain of the Great Fox. One of the endings for Star Fox Command depicts him as the new general of Corneria, be no ending from this game has officially been declared as canon.

Peppy is seen as a surrogate father figure to Fox, congratulating him on his victories by saying he is getting more and more like his father. Peppy also has a family of his own. He previously had a wife named Vivian Hare and they had a daughter named Lucy Hare. However, Vivian would die of an unknown illness shortly after the conclusion of the Lylat wars. In one of the endings for Command, Peppy and Lucy would reminisce about the memories of Vivian for a whole night.

In Super Smash Bros.

Peppy was considered for inclusion as an alternate costume for Fox, alongside Falco and Slippy.[1]

Peppy was a member of the original Star Fox team with Fox's father James McCloud. Peppy was the sole survivor of the Battle of Venom where a treacherous teammate named Pigma Dengar betrayed the team. Peppy now rarely climbs into the cockpit of an Arwing, preferring instead an advisory position in mission planning.
