Her basic move set is the same as Peach's, but this princess has her own unique personality. She's known for being upbeat, energetic, and a bit of a tomboy.

Daisy (デイジー, Daisy) is a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. She was revealed as a newcomer alongside Inkling and Ridley from Nintendo's 2018 E3 press conference, on June 12th, 2018. She is an Echo Fighter of Peach. Daisy is classified as fighter #13ε.

Deanna Mustard's portrayals of Daisy in the Mario games, mainly Mario Kart Wii and Mario Kart 8, were repurposed for Ultimate.

How to unlock

Complete one of the following:

  • Play VS. matches, with Daisy being the 28th character to be unlocked.
  • Clear Classic Mode with Fox or anyone in his unlock tree, being the fifth character unlocked after Falco.
  • Have Daisy join the player's party in World of Light.

With the exception of the third method, Daisy must then be defeated on Figure-8 Circuit.

Differences from Peach

Aesthetics

  •   As with all Echo Fighters, Daisy has different taunts and victory animations.
  •   Daisy has a more energetic idle stance, with her arms held up by her side.
  •   Daisy has a different running animation similar to her running animation from Mario Party 10, though her initial dash animation appears to be unaltered.
  •   A few other animations, such as her entrance, are different.
  •   Daisy only has three unique idle animations, compared to Peach's four.
  •   Daisy uses a Blue Toad instead of using a Red Toad for her counter and throws.
  •   Daisy has flower and petal effects for her attacks, including her dash attack and back aerial, instead of hearts.
  •   Daisy has more cheerful facial expressions, including winking, for many attacks.
  •   Daisy's Final Smash, Daisy Blossom, is similar to Peach's Final Smash, Peach Blossom, except that it summons edible daisies instead of peaches, and is themed around herself.
  •   Daisy has a slightly different sleeping position than Peach.

Attributes

  •   Daisy is visibly (but only slightly) shorter than Peach. This makes her harder to hit.

Ground attacks

  •   Daisy's neutral attack has less range compared to Peach's.
  •   Daisy's up tilt has more horizontal and vertical range compared to Peach's.
  •   Daisy's Dash attack has a wider range compared to Peach's.

Aerial attacks

Classic Mode: Sarasaland Represent!

Daisy's opponents mainly consist of royal figures.

Role in World of Light

Although Daisy does not appear in the World of Light opening cutscene, she was vaporized and later imprisoned alongside the rest of the fighters (sans Kirby) when Galeem unleashed his beams of light.

Trivia

  • As an Echo Fighter of Peach, Daisy utilizes several abilities that she previously hadn't in the Mario series, such as floating, the use of a frying pan, and putting people to sleep.
  • Many of Daisy's animations and artwork reference the Mario series:
  • Daisy was the second newcomer announced for Ultimate. This marks only the second time a new clone character for a Smash title had been announced before the game launched, with the first being Lucina in SSB4.
  • Daisy is one of only two newcomers and the only Echo Fighter introduced in Ultimate to not have splash art and an introduction tagline, the other being Inkling.
  • Daisy is the only Ultimate newcomer revealed during E3 to not be playable in the E3 demo.
  • Daisy is the only Echo Fighter to be featured on the full version of the box art.
  • Daisy and Dark Samus are the only Echo Fighters to be cloned from female characters.
  • Daisy was the first character to be shown on the new victory screen.
