Ghosts are a group of enemies from Luigi's Mansion, a game in the Mario universe.

Three ghosts from Luigi's Mansion comprise a single trophy under the name "Ghosts". The ghosts depicted are a Blue Twirler, Purple Puncher, and a Gold Ghost.

Ghost variations that appeared throughout Luigi's Mansion. They don't have the spectral power required to manifest any truly unusual ghostly phenomena, so they rely on such pedestrian physical methods as punching Luigi to frighten him. There are also some rare varieties that are very rich and drop a lot of coins.

As a trophy

The trophy depicts the same three ghosts as in Brawl.

These mischievous ghosts haunt an old, old mansion. Suck them all up with your Poltergust 3000, but watch out for their attacks while you do! The gold ones' short punches might not be too hard to dodge, but the pink ones have much greater reach. The blue ones will smack the floor to hit you with shock waves!

In Smash Tour

In Smash Tour, Ghosts (Luigi's Mansion) is a blue item. A player who uses it will be able to walk through stationary opponents on the map without triggering battles for one turn.

Origin

Various types of ghosts appear in Luigi's Mansion as enemies encountered by Luigi in his quest to rescue Mario from King Boo, which can be defeated using the Poltergust 3000. The three types of ghosts depicted in Smash, the Blue Twirler, Purple Puncher, and Gold Ghost, are common species found throughout the mansion. Boos also appear in the mansion, but are treated as a separate class of ghostly enemy.

Different but stylistically similar ghost enemies appear in Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon.
