Lyn (Full name Lyndis, リン, Lin in Japanese versions), is a character from the Fire Emblem series, specifically Fire Emblem 7. She is the second female main character in the series after Fire Emblem Gaiden. Born in the Sacaen Plains, her parents—Lord Hassar, chieftain of the Lorca tribe, and Madelyn, daughter of Lord Hausen of Caelin—were killed by bandits before the beginning of the game. Unlike most Fire Emblem games, Fire Emblem 7 has a Tactician character to represent the player, s/he has no lines, and has minimal effect on game (gender modifies certain lines said to the Tactician, and Tactician's birth month adjusts certain character's stats during chapters). Upon meeting him or her, Lyn decides to follow him or her in the interest of training her sword skills.

Lyn is the main lord for the Prologue to Chapter 10 of the game, she is the only lord in Fire Emblem 7 not to appear as an NPC in Fire Emblem 6: Fuuin no Tsurugi. Her 11 chapters serve as a way to teach the player how to play the game and how various mechanics of the game work. Her chapters are also the only time where character death is NOT permanent to the game (except if she dies, you lose). Her chapters may be skipped on later playthroughs, as all they do is allow you to increase the stats and levels of characters that appear during her portion of the story.

In Super Smash Brothers Brawl

In Brawl, she appears as an Assist Trophy. She charges her sword, then disappears and reappears near an enemy, slashing them. This is her critical attack in FE7. This attack is amazingly powerful and accurate, even against a moving or airborn foe. It can also hit someone edge grabbing. There is no known outside range for her to hit in, and some testing needs to be done. She can kill at percents as low as 32%, and can only be avoided with a well timed airdodge or roll.

In this appearance Lyn wields the Mani Katti, not her more powerful quasi-legendary Weapon the Sol Katti. Compare the playable Fire Emblem characters Marth, Roy and Ike, who fight with their legendary weapons (The Falchion, Sword of Seals and Ragnell respectively). However, it should be noted that the Mani Katti is not only the partner blade of Sol Katti, both swords are unique to Lyn.

Trophy Info

A 15-year-old* nomadic girl. Lyn is a strong-willed youth whose skill with the blade draws many admirers. Lyn sets out on her quest to become a master swordsman after coming to the aid of a fallen traveler. She soon learns she's a living member of the nobility of Lycia, a neighboring country. Soon she's involved in a violent dispute over the ascension of the Caelin throne.

(*NOTE: Lyn is stated to be fifteen in the Japanese version only; in the American localization, she is eighteen. The change is probably due to the fact that, at the end of Fire Emblem, Lyn potentially marries one of the other characters)
