Template:Nihongo is in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. It is situated on an original spacecraft called the "Pleiades", flying around various areas of the Lylat System. The original Great Fox, Arwings, and Wolfens can be seen at various points of the stage.

The stage itself does not have many hazards. The ship tilts to-and-fro as it makes turns and avoids shots from other ships. Also, the ledge is quite thin, so recovering characters may be caught under the ledge, like what happens in Melee's Battlefield.

The Pleiades flies through many events: An epic space skirmish between the Cornerian army and Andross' army, a hazardous Star Fox flight through Meteo the asteroid belt, a dogfight between Star Fox and Star Wolf, a peaceful flight through the atmosphere of Corneria, and a cruise through space where the dogfight happens.

Similar to the Corneria and Venom stages in Super Smash Bros. Melee, the Star Fox characters can perform a Starfox Secret Taunt that allows them to contact their teammates. The conversation that ensues, as well as the characters involved, depends on who initiates the call and where the Pleiades is currently flying. The talk box is slightly updated in graphics compared to Corneria and Venom's version.

Origin

In the beginning of Star Fox: Assault, the remnants of Andross' army attacked the Cornerian army. The battle scene in the background of the Brawl stage could come from this scene, as the ships in Assault look very similar to the ships in Brawl.

In the Star Fox series, one can fly through an asteroid belt, usually the belt Meteos. In the asteroid belt, one can blow up some of the smaller asteroids. In background of the Brawl stage Pleiades (the ship you battle on) flies through an asteroid belt, and one can see Arwings blowing up some small asteroids. The belt featured in Brawl is probably Meteos, given the belt's proximity to Corneria.

In Star Fox: Assault, a multiplayer stage exists where one can battle against other opponents along side the Great Fox (the new version) in Corneria's atmosphere. The Corneria atmosphere background part in Brawl looks very similar to the multiplayer battle stage in Assault.

Appearing first in Star Fox 64, the Star Wolf Team have always been enemies of the Star Fox Team. The Star Wolf Team would attack the Star Fox Team during one of Fox Team's missions, originally to collect a bounty placed by the villain Andross, but later with different motives. They would battle it out until either team retreated. One part of the background of the Lylat Cruise shows a battle between Arwings of Star Fox Team and Wolfens of Star Wolf Team.

Pleiades

Template:Nihongo is the name of the ship players ride on on the Lylat Cruise. It is an original creation, and never appeared in a Star Fox game. It's name likely came from the real-life star cluster called the Pleiades.

Trivia

  • Lylat Cruise is the first and currently only Star Fox stage that does not take place atop the Great Fox.
  • Unlike the other Star Fox stages in the series, the Arwings and Wolfens do not shoot the players, making it the first and currently the only Star fox stage in the series to not have any damaging hazards.
  • Along these lines, it is also the first and currently only Star Fox stage in the series that is not banned from tournament play.
