Template:Nihongo is a stage that is unlocked from the start. This is also Fox and Falco's home stage, but you face just Falco and his teammates on this stage in All-Star mode.

The battle takes place on the Great Fox. Unlike the Corneria stage, the fight is played on the front view of the ship, in contrast to the side view. Characters can fight on either 4 wings of the ship, and somewhat on the tailpiece in the center of the stage. This tailpiece is also a hazard that makes it hard to go to the other side. The top two wings of the ship slope inwards while the bottom two wings slope outwards. Items tend to roll off the two bottom wings of the ship.

Every now and then an Arwing will appear and start firing at the ship then will fly off. Any character that gets hit by the shots will take damage. Also, when the ship flies into the cave, sometimes characters hits the walls of the caves when smacked upwards or towards the sides, which might save one from getting KO'd.

Due to the vertical wall in the middle of the stage (the Great Fox's fin), this stage is banned in many tournaments, as Fox can infinite combo much of the cast against it. Fox and Falco also have easter egg taunts that cause Arwings to come and shoot the area.

In Brawl, its music returns, but not the stage itself. The song plays on Corneria, which did make it into Brawl.

There has also been some hacking invovled that made it possible to recreate Venom into Brawl. Consequently, it must take the place of the corneria stage. You can see this here[1]

Origin

In the Star Fox series, Venom is the first planet in the Lylat System. In Star Fox 64, one can fly through deep, steep valleys to get to Andross. In Melee, the Great Fox and some Arwings fly through a deep, steep valley. In Star Fox 64, Venom is a barren landscape. In Melee, this is still true but the Great Fox flies over lava. And in Star Fox 64, the Great Fox doesn't fly on Venom.

The music for this stage in is an orchestrated version of Star Fox 64's main theme.
