Lucina (ルキナ, Rukina) is a major character from Fire Emblem: Awakening. Her father is Chrom.

Character Description

Lucina hails from a different timeline than Chrom or Robin; she travels to their timeline due to Grima bringing her own world to ruin. Desperate to reverse this event, she and other children characters travel back in time to make the future a better place. She initially hides her identity by tying her hair back and wearing a mask given to her by one of the other children characters. During this time, she takes on the identity of "Marth", and often runs into Chrom and the Shepherds, saving Lissa on one occasion and fighting Chrom in Arena Ferox in another, but she does not reveal herself until Chrom's curiosity persists and he learns that she is, in fact, his daughter from the future. They share a reunion and she decides to fight onward with the Shepherds as Lucina, the "name that reminds (her) of the strength of the man and woman who chose it".

In game, she is the second Lord in the game (inheriting this class from Chrom), and the only children character whose recruitment is required. As she is pivotal to the story, she is one of the few units that will not be permanently lost, even in classic mode. Like Chrom, she also wields the Falchion as her default, unbreakable weapon (a trait not shared with the various items Robin must use in Fire Emblem: Awakening and Super Smash Bros. 4), but her version of the famed sword (named Parallel Falchion to distinguish between Chrom's) is more powerful and starts off being able to deal bonus damage to Grima, along with the ability to heal her when it is used like an item, whereas Chrom's Falchion must be upgraded before the final battle to do both.

Main article: Lucina (SSB4)

Lucina appears as a newcomer in Super Smash Bros. 4. She is a confirmed clone of Marth, though she is shorter and faster than him, and the strength of her blade is balanced throughout, rather than stronger at the tip like Marth's blade.

Trivia

  • Lucina is the first female addition to the Super Smash Bros. roster that hails from the Fire Emblem series.
