MELEE-FC is a tournament series hosted by the Ship of Fools. The first four main installments each set a new Melee tournament attendance record, with MELEE-FC1 featuring 98 entrants, MELEE-FC3 featuring 186 entrants, MELEE-FC6 featuring 205 entrants, and MELEE-FC Diamond featuring 256 entrants. After a five-year hiatus, the series returned in 2012 with MELEE-FC10R Legacy, which also included one of the first Project M national tournaments.
There were other smaller tournaments such as MELEE-FC2 and MELEE-FC5, with the tournaments only receiving four and five entrants, respectively.

Due to the lack of a SmashBoards post and relying on word of mouth to announce the tournament, the four Ship of Fools members were the only entrants at this event. As such, the tournament consisted of a single free-for-all match.

Similar to MELEE-FC2, the members of Ship of Fools were the only participants in the tournament, and the tournament was held last minute at Jeff Kish's sister-in-law's house.
Ruleset
- A 64-person singles bracket was created, with each player entering twice and 54 CPUs.
- The official site states that 59 CPUs were used, but this is presumed to be an error due to the published results table showing that each player entered twice.
- Due to the formatting of the CPU results, it is possible that Tournament Mode was used.
- A free-for-all bracket was also held, with two 3-player 3-minute games in the first round (KishSquared entering in both games) and the top two per game advancing to a final 4-player 5-minute game.
- The official site states that at least some players lost to CPUs in free-for-alls, but the results page has no record of any free-for-all games involving CPUs.

CPU results below the top 8 were omitted from the official results page.
