I know I have no right to actually confront you for this, but I would like to express my personal belief that the linked edit was inappropriate and a violation of SW:1RV. You being an admin does not give you the right to make the final decision without bringing it to discussion first. The original reversion had a perfectly legitimate reason and that user deserves to be given the chance to defend his stance instead of it being immediately removed because you decided your opinion was better. TheNuttyOne 16:47, 3 March 2019 (EST)
- I'm well aware that I am not the final say. And while I will fully admit to breaking 1RV (it's a poor habit that I wish to break), it was not, nor was it ever, my intention to shoot anything down because I thought my opinion was better. You of all people should know this. Aidan, the Irish Rurouni 16:50, 3 March 2019 (EST)
- I think that content probably violates SW:SPEC anyway, so I'd say you were probably justified in reverting it. Although the biggest problem with 1RV is it doesn't make it very clear under which conditions it applies so idrk... Alex the Jigglypuff trainer 16:55, 3 March 2019 (EST)
- It violating SPEC is also why I reverted. Aidan, the Irish Rurouni 16:58, 3 March 2019 (EST)

Question
Hello Aidanzapunk. I was hoping that you would be able to help me understand something onmy talk page. I was told not to use certain character art by another admin, but I did not fully grasp what they meant by their word choices on it. And has yet to get back to me on the matter. Would you be able to help me understand what they meant, at least for the time being? I would like to clear my confusion. Thank you Wolff (talk) 21:26, 3 March 2019 (EST)
(You can replay on my talk page if you prefer) Wolff (talk) 21:27, 3 March 2019 (EST)
- Technically, SW:TALK prevents me from replying to this on your talk page. I can, however, comment on the section Miles left for you. Aidan, the Irish Rurouni 22:34, 3 March 2019 (EST)
New Page Name
I have a question regarding F.L.U.D.D. . He is a character that is part of another character's moveset that doesn't have their own page that's separate to their character's move page. Other characters that appear as part of a move that has their own page are Toad, Beat, Rush, Lloid, Madama Butterfly, and Pikmin. So do other characters that appear in Final Smashes (Ness', Lucas', Shulk's, Villiger's/Isabelle's Mega Man's). My main question is that F.L.U.D.D. currently uses his regular name to refer to Mario's move, should the move page be renamed to "F.L.U.D.D. (Move)" or should his character page be named "F.L.U.D.D. (Character), or both? Wolff (talk) 21:48, 8 March 2019 (EST)
About my talk page
Plz leave me alone I don’t always check my talk page so I don’t always know if I’m violating the rules, also your comments are very derogatory and I feel like I am being bullied by you. Please consider your actions next time you leave a comment on my talk page. Dab Squad Leader (talk) 16:40, March 11, 2019 (EDT)
- Not Aidan, but his comments, although somewhat harsh, aren't necessarily derogatory; he is mostly just warning you about things you do, and when you don't stop, he simply adds a harsher warning. SugarCookie 420 16:51, March 11, 2019 (EDT)
I just think he could use kinder words when expressing his opinions because sometimes I don’t see it, then I get banned for a week and don’t know why. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dab Squad Leader (talk • contribs) 16:55, March 11, 2019
- Do you not receive a notification on SmashWiki when your talk page gets edited? I believe all users do, but there may be exceptions that I do not know. SugarCookie 420 16:58, March 11, 2019 (EDT)
Im afraid I don’t, I find out either by checking the recent edits or by suddenly discovering that I am restricted form editing pages. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dab Squad Leader (talk • contribs) 17:02, March 11, 2019
- Huh, well I don't really know how to fix this problem. Maybe try placing your talk page into your watch list? SugarCookie 420 17:08, March 11, 2019 (EDT)
It already is, but I will try to check regularly. Thanks for your feedback!
- I apologize if I came off as harsh, because I can't really tell myself how my words are coming off to other people; I will admit that I was intentionally firm, but only because my first warning seemingly didn't get across.
- In regards to your talk page, you should get an automatic notification on the website once you load it up that someone has left a message for you. If you're using the mobile version, then that might be why you're not getting it (I don't use the mobile layout, so I wouldn't know).
- Finally, please sign your talk page comments with ~~~~. Aidan, the Irish Rurouni 17:57, March 11, 2019 (EDT)
The StarVs Logo
Where did you get it and what did it look like? I have an idea for something probably related to this, and was curious where you could've gotten it. SugarCookie 420 17:27, April 1, 2019 (EDT)
- All of my symbols, with the exception of Phoenix Wright's and Shovel Knight's, are actually custom-made; I may use an image to base it off of (such as this as the basis for this, and a manga panel that I cannot find for this), but I do custom-make my symbols via Pixlr. The exceptions are Ace Attorney and Shovel Knight, because I got the Shovel Knight one from Smashified, and someone on this wiki originally uploaded the Ace Attorney symbol, though I don't remember who.
- In reference to Star's symbol, however, I based it off of the star on her wand (in its Season 1 form). Don't remember the exact picture I based it off of, but I do still have the original file saved elsewhere if you would like to use it. Aidan, the Springing Rurouni 21:10, April 1, 2019 (EDT)
- I can take a look at it, sure. SugarCookie 420 21:24, April 1, 2019 (EDT)

Extra images on Pokemon pages
I see you deleted the images I tagged for deletion. The reason I did that was because I think the extra images cause clutter, especially because most Pokeball Pokemon pages already lack text and the images push each other around and mess with the headers. Before I continue I just wanted to get some approval or consensus, and possibly some more help from you. Thank you. Blue Ninjakoopa 22:30, April 9, 2019 (EDT)
- The original art was/is considered acceptable. Only the sprites should/could probably be deleted. Wolff (talk) 22:49, April 9, 2019 (EDT)
- Per our discussion I'll undo all my edits and remove all the delete tags. Wolff, you'll have to re-upload the Porygon artwork. I'll keep the tags on the sprites though; I think they're kind of redundant with the artwork. Blue Ninjakoopa 22:58, April 9, 2019 (EDT)
Many Thanks
Good morning, Aidanzapunk. I would like to personally thank you for your contribution to the Tough Guy article. As the one who first created the page, you have my thanks. I am currently conducting further tests to what moves trigger Tough Guy in Ultimate. If you or anyone has details of moves from Smash 4 that trigger Tough Guy, any additions would be much appreciated. Thecontributor22 (talk) 11:18, April 23, 2019 (EDT)
- Yea, no problem. It seemed weird to me that there were extra columns, so I just figured I'd fix it. Aidan, the Springing Rurouni 11:33, April 23, 2019 (EDT)

Voice actor trivia
How come the this voice actor trivia is notable? I can understand the Chrom being in Yusuke Kitagawa spirit battle being a notable reference, but I thought general voice actor trivia wasn’t allowed. At what point would it be considered notable, because I don’t understand why doing a fan project would be notable (unless there’s something I’m missing). Lou Cena (talk) 22:45, May 4, 2019 (EDT)
- Voice actor trivia is, generally, an all or nothing kind of thing. We've had an issue in the past because there have been a few voice actor connections that have attempted to make their way as trivia points (i.e., the fact that Captain Falcon and Dunban share a Japanese actor), but Joker was the first exception, solely because of the fact that he's voiced by the announcer (a first for the series) - Roy's connection was kept because it was relevant to that fact. Chrom and Yusuke's connection, as I said, is much more than a simple sharing of actors, as Chrom was likely chosen to represent Yusuke likely because of the connection, making it a full on reference to it (slightly unrelated, but even Matt Mercer has commented on the connection, making it all the more likely that it was intentional).
- Specifically in regards to There Will Be Brawl, though, it's an interesting story: TWBB was a fanmade project, but it was the start of Matt's acting career, and after booking the part of a major Nintendo character, was able to later be in a Smash game. TWBB was also popular for its time (at least, to my knowledge - I didn't know about it, but that's because I personally got into the Smash series late). Aidan, the Rurouni 00:05, May 5, 2019 (EDT)
Question about deleting my former IP’s talk page
Before making this account, I operated using an IP address. I moved everything from my IP address’s talk page over to User talk:Lou Cena, but I’m questioning if I should flag it for deletion. I doubt that anybody who tries to edit under the same IP would want to have talk page posts directed to me on it. Am I allowed to flag it for deletion? Lou Cena (talk) 18:22, May 5, 2019 (EDT)
- Regardless of how likely you think it is that someone under the same IP would see that talk page, there's a notice on any IP talk page that says:
- And even if it was unlikely, I'm pretty sure SW:TALK disallows me to delete that talk page. Aidan, the Rurouni 19:10, May 5, 2019 (EDT)
User page
Hello, I am new a few days ago; but I cannot create my userpage, how is it possible? Derekblue1 (talk) 22:44, May 26, 2019 (EDT)
- Not Aiden, but currently because of the wiki status, you need to be autoconfirmed to create new pages. To be autoconfirmed, you need to make 10 edits and have a week-old account. CookiesCreme 23:08, May 26, 2019 (EDT)

Adding Pages
I was wondering, there is nothing that says we can't add as meany pages as we want on this Wiki. But would we be able to create over 80 at once? I feel as though over 15 new pages at once needs approval from a few admins, so that it is not a hassle for them to delete them if they were to deem it unnecessary. As an admin, what are your thoughts about creating over 80 pages at once? Wolff (talk) 20:42, May 30, 2019 (EDT)
- If you mean in an instantaneous way, creating multiple pages at once is an impossible task. Secondly, refresh my memory, as I have not particularly been able to participate in the discussion you have linked me to: what exactly is that forum for? Is that the one in regards to separating or merging moves that are similar to one another? Aidan, the Rurouni 22:29, May 30, 2019 (EDT)
- It is to discuss how the special moves should be categorized on the wiki. Should moves that have the name share a page, or should moves with different animations be separated? I'm hoping for it to be by name. My question stemmed from an idea someone thought of where every special move is separated regardless of the reason. However, that would result in over 80 pages being created. I wanted to make sure with an admin if that possibility would have been accepted before action was taken and they gone though with it. However, I had asked before Miles said that he didn't think that would be a good idea. I didn't either. Thank you for responding though. Wolff (talk) 23:18, May 30, 2019 (EDT)
- Moves that share a same name, ability, and concept (Super Jump Punch, Blaster, Counter, etc.) should share a page - however, two moves that share a name but belong to different characters, regardless of how similar they are (for example, the Fire Emblem Counter vs. Palutena's Counter), should get separate pages. But asking one admin is a slippery slope - I'm just one of the staff, and I do not speak for all of them, but I can voice my opinion on the matter. 80 pages is utterly ridiculous. MM IP Block
I could be wrong, but isn't giving IPs indefinite blocks frowned upon? Alex the Jigglypuff trainer 16:42, June 2, 2019 (EDT)

I’m going to have to agree with Alex on this. Somebody else may end up using the IP address only to find that they’ve been infinitely banned. Also, Memoryman comes by with a new sockpuppet every week, the amount of time he’s being banned for means nothing to him. Lou Cena (talk) 19:14, June 2, 2019 (EDT)
Would listing Echo Fighters’ position compared to their base fighters on tier lists be speculation?
Daisy, Dark Samus, and Richter are all near-universally agreeed to not be ranked separately from their base character, and Ken, Chrom, and Lucina have all been considered too different when compared to the former three. The only grey area is Dark Pit. So if I added this info to the clone or tier list page, would that be considered speculation, or not because it’s common agreement? Lou Cena (talk) 19:14, June 2, 2019 (EDT)
- Given the noticeable lack of a tier list for Ultimate, I'd wait on including that at all - though, for future reference (i.e., when we do get a tier list), then it wouldn't be speculation to list which clones are or aren't (one or the other) listed separately from their parent. (As for Dark Pit, one should note that he was ranked alongside his goody two shoes self in Smash 4's tier list.) Aidan, the Rurouni 19:55, June 2, 2019 (EDT)
Requesting permission to use information
Salutations! My name is Follower of Light, and I am the most active editor on The Dragon Quest wiki . Due to recent events, I would like to humbly request permission to use the information presented on this site in regards to the Luminary and the other Dragon Quest aspects that will appear in Ultimate this summer. While it might be standard NIWA practice to share and share alike, I want to be as professional about this as humanly possible and get permission before copying any templates and such. As your name was the first to appear on the active administrators page, I felt it would be the best place to start; if this is the wrong page to post about this kind of thing, please direct me to the right avenue whenever is convenient for you. (Follower of Light (talk) 15:45, June 11, 2019 (EDT))
- Hi there! I don't think there'd reasonably be anything preventing you from using the stuff that we have up here (except for the obvious fact that plagiarism would be frowned upon), and, in fact, if there are any of you that would like to help us tackle the Dragon Quest-related media in Ultimate, that would be greatly appreciated! Aidan, the Rurouni 15:49, June 11, 2019 (EDT)
- Understood, and thank you graciously! As for helping with DQ information, I would be more than happy to lend a hand where ever I can and all of the wiki's media is at your disposal. Looking forward to spreading wisdom and making both sites shine! (Follower of Light (talk) 16:27, June 11, 2019 (EDT))

Dragon Quest Protection
May I request that both of the pages for Dragon Quest's Hero be protected? Users keep changing the name for DQXI's Hero and do not seem to be listening when directed to the talk page regarding the discussion on the matter. Stage Images
I was wondering for awhile what kind of pictures are suppose to be in the a stage's gallery? I am under the impression that it is suppose to be pictures that showcase the stage, whether or not it's just close ups on certain parts of it. I ask because numerous pages (especially Skyloft) seem to have numerous photos that appaer to showcase the characters on it rather than of the stage itself. In meany cases, some are just different characters in the same location (like Luigi's Mansion). I feel it makes the stage galleries bloated with pictures that are not really necessary. What kind of pictures are appropriate for a stage's gallery, and which are not? Thank you. Wolff (talk) 16:47, June 17, 2019 (EDT)
- If an image can show something that hasn't already been shown, then it should stay. Aidan, the Rurouni 17:37, June 17, 2019 (EDT)
- That's kind of what I mean. So if there is already a picture of said area of the stage in the gallery, then the rest in that area (that doesn't show anything more of the stage) should be removed? What about the ones where you can't really see the stage because of the character? Wolff (talk) 18:04, June 17, 2019 (EDT)
- I can see an argument being made for both. On one hand, it is a showcasing of the move on the stage, regardless of how well you can see it. On the other, it is a pretty bad angle.
- If I'm being honest, this whole thing is subjective in and of itself, but if you're referring to the edit I made earlier, part of the reason I also deleted it was because it was poor quality, which doesn't make a page's gallery look good. Aidan, the Rurouni 18:13, June 17, 2019 (EDT)
- That wasn't what I was referring to. I was wondering this for a few months actually. I am mainly curious because it kind of looks bloated to me. I am probably not the best person to decide which are really relevant and which are just causing bloat, but I feel they could be cleaned up more. Also, Mushroom Kingdom II only has a few and none from Ultimate. And do Green Greens and Great Plateau Tower (which surprisingly does not have a picture of the Old Man) really need as meany pictures as they do given how small the stages are? Like I said, it is just something that had been on my mind for a few months. Wolff (talk) 18:31, June 17, 2019 (EDT)
(Reset indent) I think that there's a lot of inconsistency and incompleteness amongst the galleries, much like the rest of the wiki itself. Aidan, the Rurouni 23:04, June 17, 2019 (EDT)
- So, not at present. That's alright. I was just curious as I thought it looked unnecessarily bloated. Wolff (talk) 23:46, June 17, 2019 (EDT)
How Can I Edit My Page Now That It's Been a While
I've been on this Wikia for more than a week, and made at least 10 edits (that started with Smash Ultimate's Classic mode), what do I do to be able to edit my own page?NinTylo (talk) 22:41, June 17, 2019 (EDT)
- Well, for one, we're not a Wikia. For two, you just have to put something on there in order for it to be there - a sentence, an infobox, or whatever you want (within reason, of course). Aidan, the Rurouni 23:00, June 17, 2019 (EDT)
About SlugmaBalls’ infinite block
I know he’s a vandal (and not even a funny one), but isn’t infinitely blocking a user generally looked down upon? He did only have 3 edits. Lou Cena (talk) 19:49, June 18, 2019 (EDT)
- Not really related to the issue, but what constitutes a funny vandal? KungFuLakitu, Spiny Overlord 19:51, June 18, 2019 (EDT)
- A vandal whose edits you can't just help but laugh at, even though you know it's vandalism. Awesomelink234, the Super Cool Gamer Leave a message if needed 19:55, June 18, 2019 (EDT)

Character concepts
How would I go about creating a "Character concepts" page? Do I need to do anything special in order to do so? Wolff (talk) 23:33, June 22, 2019 (EDT)
- Well, you'd need to use the code that I already have in place, rather than the moveset template itself; otherwise, it creates a bunch of redlinks that won't ever be created. You'd also need to not spam on it, since it's still a part of your userspace. Other than that, you don't really need anything. Aidan, the Rurouni 00:06, June 23, 2019 (EDT)
- Do I just make a "new page"? Also, what code? I wasn't planing on creating red-links. Wolff (talk) 00:24, June 23, 2019 (EDT)
- In your case, the page you'd want to create is User:Wolff/Character concepts. As for the code, it's specifically the wikicode used in sections like this one - just click edit, copy the code in the table, and make edits where appropriate for the character(s) you have in mind. The same would apply to the infobox - you'd copy the wikicode from something like this, and make edits where appropriate. Aidan, the Rurouni 00:33, June 23, 2019 (EDT)
- Ok. I'll try! Wolff (talk) 00:39, June 23, 2019 (EDT)

Etika
Since he died, should we make a page about him? RIP Etika 174.55.24.64 02:23, June 26, 2019 (EDT)
- Not Aidan, but we did have one at one time, but it was deleted for lack of notability. We don't need one, considering he didn't entirely make Smash videos. Awesomelink234, the Super Cool Gamer Leave a message if needed 02:34, June 26, 2019 (EDT)
- Etika does not have a page due to insufficient notability, as already explained here. His death has arguably no impact over it to justify its creation. Nokii — 02:56, June 26, 2019 (EDT)
- I’d argue that he could be placed in the deceased smashers category to at least show him respect, also partly by copying his new wikipedia page, but he wasn’t a competitive player. In terms of youtubers, Etika was definitely noteworthy, so he may deserve it based on that, even if his competitive smash career was almost nonexistent. I’m honestly conflicted on this. Maybe not a page, but just something to show respect for him. This is a very serious situation, and it should be acknowledged in some way. Lou Cena (talk) 03:25, June 26, 2019 (EDT)
- For players who haven’t been notable for their rankings but have notability impacted or effected the Smash community have gotten pages. If he hasn’t done do already, I’d say wait awhile as the unfortunate event just happened. See if the Smash community specifically gets noticeably effected by him. 47.199.39.81 03:36, June 26, 2019 (EDT)
- As I said here, while I do not wish to not pay him respects at all, to suddenly give him special treatment seems like an odd move to make. He was definitely known amongst multiple communities by many, but he did not have a large impact on the Smash community. If it was someone like, say Alpharad, then it would be a different story. Aidan, the Rurouni 10:33, June 26, 2019 (EDT)
- Simply having recognition on the community isn't how one achieves notability. Specifically, besides having no competitive presence, he also had none of his content fit into what the notability page considers as significant and contributive content to the community. Similarly, he's not notable for having smashers with a decent social media following share their condolences. We only have pages on people who are in the same situation as Etika was regarding content made if they have the competitive notability to justify it (see: Alpharad).
- The idea that a person with otherwise no notability can be exempted if they simply die is both disrespectful to people who are willing to improve while living and only feeds the train of thought that led him to his demise.
- If we're to exempt Etika, we'll also need to create another hundred of pages for people who make any sort of Smash content, let alone those already dead, and also for people who received some sort of post-mortem tribute from notable smashers, regardless if they had any impact towards the community. If you want any change over what this policy encompasses, place your arguments on a proposed change here instead. Nokii — 10:53, June 26, 2019 (EDT)
- Mmvfgh. This is why I've always been uncomfortable with there being articles about the community so long as it only applies to the competitive scene. I've always felt that if we were to have articles pertaining to specific people, then it seems unfair to exclude other notable community figures just because they don't have a comp presence, but the question then becomes "where do you draw the line for notability?" Hell, I've felt that way for fan content in general such as tournaments and mods, but that's a whole other argument to be had. I'm conflicted on this one. VinLAURiA (talk) 16:20, June 26, 2019 (EDT)

Am I allowed to remove a move tag if I was the one who started discussion in the first place
I placed a move tag on Belly Super Armor because I mistakenly believed that Belly Power was its true official name based on the techniques section ingame. However, another user mentioned that the ability is referred to its current page name in the tips. I checked, and he was right. Since I don’t want the Recent Changes to be clogged up by people who mistakenly think that discussion should continue based on one person’s misinformation, I was thinking of removing the merge tag, but I also don’t want to prematurely end discussion (I just got a third block warning that my methods implied that I was trying to strongarm debate and prematurely end them, so I may be asking permission for these kinds of things a bit more often, if that’s fine with you). - If the discussion was a mistake, then yes, remove it. There's no penalty for owing up to a mistake. Aidan, the Rurouni 12:57, June 29, 2019 (EDT)
Archiving my Talk Page - Help
I attempted to Archive my Talk Page, but I do not seem to understand how to add the links to and from my talk page and archive. Could you please help me? Wolff (talk) 18:07, July 2, 2019 (EDT)
- All you do is hit the move button at the top of the page, and label it "User:Wolff/Archive 1". Then, you put {{archive}} at the top of the page, and you're done. Aidan, the Rurouni 18:11, July 2, 2019 (EDT)
- I thought that was what I had done. Trainer Alex helped me right after I asked for your help, but thank you. Hopefully I can do it correctly the next time I have to archive it. Wolff (talk) 18:15, July 2, 2019 (EDT)
SSBU regional differences
Hello, I was intending to create a page for SSBU's regional differences as there is one for SSB4 and I found it strange there still isn't one after the game has been out for eight months. However I noticed you've stated in february that this page is "in progress". Seeing as it's now July, is it still being worked on? Am I able to make one myself otherwise? - Qyzxf (talk) 17:53, July 10, 2019 (EDT)
- The only reason I haven't moved mine to the mainspace is because it's incomplete - a lot of names/translations are missing from the page. If you would like to contribute to it, you may, but I find making another one when one is already created (and, aside from the incomplete state, perfectly usable) to be unnecessary and redundant. A question
Hi, I'm so sorry if this isn't the appropriate place for this, but is there a generalized area where the users on this site can interact like an IRC? Alhecks11 (talk) 16:16, July 21, 2019 (EDT)
- SmashWiki has a Discord server for that purpose. Nokii — 17:02, July 21, 2019 (EDT)
- We used to have an IRC, but we replaced it with a Discord a long time ago. Aidan, the Rurouni 20:04, July 21, 2019 (EDT)
Mario subuniverses
(this) Because the subuniverses are different in terms of Smash, aren't we suppose to said "if one were to count sub-universes" because it actually isn't? Wario and Donkey Kong are Mario characters, but it doesn't work the other way. Or is this a different situation? 47.199.39.81 00:18, July 22, 2019 (EDT)
- Hmm, I guess I wasn't thinking about the entirety of the wording, my bad. Aidan, the Rurouni 00:22, July 22, 2019 (EDT)
- That's alright. 47.199.39.81 00:28, July 22, 2019 (EDT)
Broken image link created
When you deleted File:Mario artwork Ultimate, you didn't fix the image link on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, or specify which file has replaced it, which has left a broken image link on that article. Could you please fix this? I can't find the replacement image in the upload log... Alex the Jigglypuff trainer 06:26, July 28, 2019 (EDT)
- Took care of it. ~ Serena Strawberry (talk) 06:56, July 28, 2019 (EDT)
- Um, I'm not sure that's the right one. The previous image was named an artwork of some sort, not an animation... Alex the Jigglypuff trainer 06:59, July 28, 2019 (EDT)
