Isaac (ロビン, Robin in Japanese language versions) is the main protagonist of Golden Sun for Game Boy Advance, and also plays a strong role in its sequel; Golden Sun: The Lost Age. His appearance as an unlockable Assist Trophy in Super Smash Bros. Brawl is his first appearance in 3D, as well as the first appearance of Golden Sun in any official format since 2002.
Character description
Isaac is a strong-willed young man and swordsman who is classified as an Adept of the Venus element, which means he can conjure sorcerous powers based on earth and plant matter. These powers in the Golden Sun world are called Psynergy. He made his first appearance in the Camelot developed RPG title, Golden Sun, in which he sets out to prevent a band of antagonists from unleashing a powerful and potentially dangerous force called Alchemy upon the world of Weyard. He is a silent protagonist in the first Golden Sun, but is depicted as speaking normally in The Lost Age since the game places Isaac's rival, Felix, a different Venus Adept warrior, into the role of the game's silent protagonist.
In Super Smash Bros. Brawl
As an Assist Trophy
When he appears, he uses what is normally a utility effect, a Psynergy spell called "Move", as his in-game battle effect, which creates an energy field in the shape of a giant hand three times in total that pushes foes away and off the stage. He will turn to face enemies during this attack should they attempt to evade. However, like in the Golden Sun series, the move does no damage.
This move was present in Golden Sun and The Lost Age for the GBA, where it was the first psynergy Isaac, Garret, and Felix could learn. It allowed the adepts to push movable objects, usually to solve a puzzle in a dungeon.
To unlock Isaac, one must play 200 matches in Brawl, or related modes.
Unlike many other smash trophies, his attacks can pierce invincibility stars, since they just "Move" the opponent, not do damage. So even invincible opponents could be knocked off the stage.
Trophy Description
A strong-willed Psynergy adept of the bloodline of an ancient race thought to have been lost with the downfall of civilization. He can manipulate earth-based forces and is also a highly skilled swordsman. He sets out to protect a lighthouse that can release the sealed powers of alchemy. In Smash Bros., he uses "Move" Psynergy, which creates an energy field that pushes foes away.
