Chocobos are creatures from the Final Fantasy series and one of the mascots of Square Enix.

In Super Smash Bros. 4

Chocobos are the basis of a downloadable content headgear based on the main chocobo character of the Chocobo's Mysterious Dungeon series.

Origin

Chocobos are generally depicted as yellow-orange birds, large wings and long necks. Some variations include the black chocobo, red chocobo, blue chocobo, and the gold chocobo. Commonly used as mounts in Final Fantasy games since their debut in Final Fantasy II. Though often domesticated, chocobos can be found in the wild and sometimes fought as enemies. Since their first appearance in Final Fantasy II, they have appeared in every game in the series in some capacity and are a mainstay of the games, and could be considered the series' mascot. The character Chocobo also serves as the protagonist of the Chocobo Series of spin-offs.
