Kirby (カービィ, Kābī) will be a playable character in Super Smash Bros. 4. Kirby has a brighter appearance, and his skin appears to have much more diffuse shading, with reduced difference in brightness between the lit and shadowed sides of his body.

Confirmed changes from Brawl

• Up throw deals drastically more knockback.
• Neutral infinite now transitions into a Smash Punch finisher.
• Kirby's Hammer Flip (formerly known as Hammer) can now charge up and release a fire attack. Kirby can move around while charging it, and keeping it at full charge will deal recoil damage to Kirby, similarly to King Dedede's Jet Hammer.
• The beam produced from Final Cutter has had its range reduced by around half.
• The Thwomp of Stone now uses the design from New Super Mario Bros. Wii instead of Super Mario 64.
• Kirby's Final Smash is now the Ultra Sword from Kirby's Return to Dream Land, which hits multiple times and in a long range.
• Inhale has a whirlwind-like cone which bears a likeness to what is seen from the move in Kirby Triple Deluxe.

Special Moves

In Super Smash Bros. 4, special moves can be swapped out for different variants, but only a few of Kirby's have been seen. He retains three of his original special moves. Hammer has been adjusted into the chargeable move, Hammer Flip. His final smash Cook Kirby has been replaced with Ultra Sword. These are Kirby's special moves: Thwomp '

Trivia
