Robin (ルフレ, Reflet) is the default name for the avatar character in Fire Emblem: Awakening.
Character description
The idea of having an avatar for the player was first explored in Fire Emblem on the Game Boy Advance. This game introduced Mark. Unlike Robin, Mark cannot be used in battle, and has little impact on the plot.
The concept of an avatar character for the player appeared again in Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem, Heroes of Light and Shadow on the Nintendo DS, after a four game gap. Unlike Mark before him, this avatar, Kris, is able to be used as a unit on the battlefield, and has an appearance that can be customized by the player.
Robin appears as the customizable avatar character in Fire Emblem: Awakening. He is the tactician for Chrom's "Shepherds", a group of soldiers who keep peace throughout the halidom of Ylisse. Robin starts in the Tactician class, which enables him to attack with magic tomes as well as swords. This is how Robin is portrayed in Super Smash Bros. 4.
Robin is introduced as an amnesiac who remembers nothing besides his name, Chrom's name and his incredible knowledge in fighting battles, which Chrom notices after they manage to save a small settlement despite the strength and numbers of the enemy. Chrom recruits him into the Shepherds, who are soon faced with a war between Ylisse and Plegia, the neighbouring region. Throughout the game, the Shepherds recruit other people that show promise in fighting ability, and meet with children characters who hail from an alternate timeline where the world is doomed (among them Lucina). Robin eventually learns of his origins and his ties to a recurring character and villain by the name Validar, who also appears in the Premonition of the game.

As a Playable Fighter
